The January Transfer Window - 2024

This move is being almost universally criticized by MLS fans and even some pundits. LAFC's current #1 is out of contract but easily a Top 7 keeper in MLS. Lloris isn't going to be much of an upgrade at this point, if he even is. This move only makes sense if Crepeau is asking for too much money or Lloris is willing to come in on a small salary to live in Hollywood. Because he's definitely not worth a $1m yearly salary for a team against the cap. Not even worth $750k in a salary cap league.

Middlesbrough are signing Finn Azaz from Aston Villa for £2.5 million, which means he's been recalled from Plymouth Argyle, which is a bit annoying. A year to the day that Morgan Whittaker was recalled by Swansea in an attempt to sell him (which failed, unlike here). Middlesbrough are getting the best attacking midfielder in the Championship for a steal.

Suspect it is some kind of FPL book balancing. Looks a decent player, probably would’ve had a look in for us had our trajectory not gone higher sooner than anyone could’ve expected.

Not sure what Ben Brereton is really going to do to help Sheffield United. He was good in the Championship, but when he stepped up to La Liga, couldn't barely get any minutes. Championship quality players is pretty much their entire team, and it's why they're in the bottom 3. If they want to somehow survive this season, gotta get some better players.

Manchester City goalkeeper Zack Steffen is on the brink of a return to Major League Soccer with Colorado Rapids.

Steffen joined City from the Rapids in 2019 and signed a new deal two years later that would have kept him with the Blues until 2025.

However, a loan move to Middlesbrough last season did not have the desired effect as Steffen missed out on selection for the USA's World Cup squad before the Teessiders were beaten in the Championship play-off semi-final by Coventry.

In the meantime, Steffen slipped behind Ederson and Stefan Ortega at City.

The 28-year-old missed the first part of this season with a knee injury, which prevented him from seeking a loan move to another European team.

We've confirmed the signing of Brereton-Diaz on loan. Happy with that. We're by far the cash poorest club in the league so gotta try and get deals where we can. We're probs screwed, but it's good that we're actually making a go of it.

Now, if we can sign either Kasper Schmeichel or Viktor Johansson I'll be happier about our GK situation.
