The amount of comments saying "It's not Top Gear without the original line-up!". I got bored of picking random old Top Gear presenters to cite in response, but it was good fun pretending to be outraged at the lack of Tiff Needell for a little while.

Formula 1 commentator Eddie Jordan and German racing driver Sabine Schmitz are to join the new series of Top Gear.

Motor journalist Chris Harris and TV presenter Rory Reid have also been signed to co-present the programme.

They will join Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc when the BBC Two programme returns in May.

The new presenters were signed after Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond left the programme last year.

Sabine Schmitz will become the show's first female presenter in 15 years. The last was Vicki Butler-Henderson in 2001.

Eh. Already seen a few comments about the diversity of the presenters being "very BBC" or whatever. Because apparently the race and gender of the presenters is a thing that matters...

A few people on my Facebook complaining that there's too many presenters, and that Evans and LeBlanc could probably manage on their own, but there's a line-up of about six. I imagine they're going to change the format up quite a bit, and have Evans and LeBlanc and maybe one other do more of the studio stuff, and others do the field and outdoor broadcasting?

Probably also an effort to make sure the show isn't built around select people too, with the Clarkson trio they basically could get held to ransom because they made themselves irreplaceable. If one or two out of six people go, it's less of an issue.

Most of the people moaning would be moaning no matter what tbh, the cult of Clarkson is weird.

Didn't old Top Gear have a large group of rotating presenters? As Benji said the cult of Clarkson does odd stuff like pretend it only ever existed in the May and Hammond format. Surely 'Petrolheads' should be happy that the focus is on cars rather than personalities, the show as was certainly wasn't successful as a car show.
