Opinionated Compilation Of 100 Bands

Jook

Looking good Jook, minus Slipknot who shouldn't be in the top 500, that'll own top 20 :P

Oasis should be coming up somewhere soon. Sadly Coldplay never even got a mention, they should have at least made it around the 90's area maybe, but not a huge problem. RHCP are hopefully close to the top too, and Nirvana and even foo fighters :P

The only groups I was looking forward to see up high on the cart were Pixies and Nirvana....

Go Nirvana!

If I'm lucky, Gorillaz or Radiohead will also be up high =)

You have about the same chance of seeing Gorillaz in the top ten as I have of seeing The Pillows in the top ten. (Well, maybe better, as I believe Gorillaz were on my list too, but still.)

Yeah because we all know System Of A Down is a greater band than the likes of Queen, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, The Doors, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Hendrix and the Rolling Stones.

As far as the the over-representation of british indy bands, i wont bother, but Slipknot? FRANZ FUCKIN FERDINAND? have long have they been around? and they're better than bands that have been on top for decades? some of the greatest singers, bands and song-writers ever? Pioneers in the arts? I know this list was done by voting, but this thing has less credibility than the PWI 500.

People's choices. As simple as that, and people's choices will always be blinded by flavor of the month and the likes. As Maxx stated, if we want a real list, then we should all focus on record sales, bla bla bla, and even there, "Hotel California" isn't the best album for most of the people, specially the people who have more knowledge on music.

i hope RHCP and Foo Fighters are in the top 5

Ok... maybe RHCP... but Foo Fucking Fighters? They are a good band, but they still don't have a major influence, if they are near the top 5, then Dave Eric Grohl is one fucking lucky bastard to be so high.
