Artists you have a lot of songs by

METALMAN

Recommended Posts

I thought I'd ask this question because it always amazes me when you find people that have, say, every Johnny Cash album ever and that sort of thing.

So...yeah post artists/bands you have a lot of songs by. I'll post ones which I have over 50 of.

Mine are:

Adam Green - 51 songs. Only 3 albums though.

Babyshambles - 50 songs

The Beach Boys - 57 songs

The Beatles - 256 songs. Every album and single and various b-sides

Belle & Sebastian - 139 songs. Every album and single and various b-sides also

blink-182 - 81 songs. Every album and some other crap

Bloc Party - 66 songs. Every album/single and tons of other shit

Bob Dylan - 177 songs. Still only a fraction of his total output.

Bright Eyes - 57 songs. 4 albums and some other stuff

The Clash - 55 songs

Coheed and Cambria - 61 songs. All the albums. Including the "A Lot of Nothing" balls.

Coldplay - 52 songs. I don't even like them. My friend does though, hence me having all their albums. <_<

David Bowie - 64 songs. Three albums and a greatest hits

Death Cab For Cutie - 77 songs. All the albums and various other stuff

Foo Fighters - 72 songs. See Coldplay.

Green Day - 84 songs. I was 11. :P

The Jam - 81 songs. Two albums and a massive BBC Sessions thing that is basically every song repeated three times.

James Taylor - 58 songs. I need more. :(

Jimi Hendrix - 59 songs. One album, a greatest hits and loads of live stuff.

John Lennon - 63 songs. Most of it is shit.

Johnny Cash - 51 songs. Hooray for massive Greatest Hits collections at £3 each!

The Libertines - 98 songs. I went a bit over the top with rarity collecting.

Manic Street Preachers - 56 songs

Morrissey - 120 songs... I never realised I had so many.

Muse - 71 songs

Neil Young - 84 songs

Paul McCartney - 133 songs. About half are live.

Prince - 93 songs.

Queen - 54 songs

R.E.M. - 94 songs

Red Hot Chili Peppers - 185 songs

The Rolling Stones - 73 songs. Mostly live. I can only really listen to them live.

Ryan Adams - 132 songs

Scott Walker - 52 songs

Simon & Garfunkel - 85 songs

The Smiths - 118 songs

Steely Dan - 70 songs

Sting - 78 songs

Sufjan Stevens - 54 songs

The Who - 68 songs

So there you go...

There are 617 songs in my Misfits folder. That's every album released and some live stuff. I've also got five data discs of just live shows, as there's not enough room on my computer for them all.

170 Cradle of Filth songs.

297 songs by HIM.

Bright Eyes - 66 songs, 5 albums and a live show.

Green Day - 169 songs. 8 albums, the Dookie Demo tape, 2 live shows and the live CD Bullet in a Bible.

Johnny Cash - 256 songs. A couple of his American Records, Folsom and Greatest Hits shit.

Nine Inch Nails - 230 songs. I'd bet though that Tristy has everyone beat when it comes to NIN stuff.

EDIT:

Alkaline Trio - 233 songs. Albums, EPs, Demos, Acoustic and Live shit.

Why?- 90

Fantastic.

Anyway, my laptop isn't indicative of my musical tastes whatsoever, being largely full of obscurities, novelties, or albums I've bought in the past six months or so since owning my mp3 player....I've got a good few hundred albums that aren't on here at all, that would increase the amount owned by certain artists tenfold.

But judging from this;

Tom Waits; 109 songs.

The Lucksmiths; 82 songs.

Sigh; 60 songs.

Tom Waits; 52 songs.

Leonard Cohen; 51 songs.

The Fall; 51 songs.

Motorhead; 50 songs.

They're the only bands with more than 50 on here...there'd probably be more if you take actual hard copies of music into account - and each of those bands, bar Sigh, would have a hell of a lot more songs than that in my collection too.

Alkaline Trio - 77 (currently downloading new album)

Apocalyptica - 65

Beatles - Only about 40 on my iTunes, but I have lots more I need to stick on there

Bon Jovi - 352 (tried to get more into Bon Jovi, downloaded the full discography... should probably delete 90% of it)

Foo Fighters - 218 (and I think I have a live album that isn't on iTunes)

Frank Sinatra - 47 on iTunes but I have more

Green Day - 60 but more I don't have on iTunes

Jimi Hendrix - 47 but I'm sure I'll have a couple more kicking about

Metallica - 172 (plus Load)

My Chemical Romance - 48 (and again I have a few more... and I don't know why because I only like about 5 songs)

Nickelback - 58

Nirvana - 411 (and you think you went overboard with collecting rarities)

Oasis - 73 (sadly, i think there's another album i own... not sure why I liked Oasis as much as I did)

Ozzy Osbourne - 108

The Pixies - 171

Queen - 51

QOTSA - 52

Rage Against The Machine - 76

Red Hot Chili Peppers - 62 (and quite a bit more)

Robbie Williams - 142

Seether - 73

Slipknot - 145 (another band I got the discography of but don't like most of it)

Staind - 59

Stereophonics - 45 (might have more, but worth an honourable mention anyway)

System of a Down - 25 but I have all their stuff, which might take it closer to 50, not sure

At a guess I'd say I've got more than 50 songs by "The Who" but maybe not. Certainly close. Also close are Tenacious D, Thin Lizzy, Motorhead, Biffy Clyro, Black Sabbath, Guns N Roses, some of who would probably make it if I put all the stuff I have on my iTunes or was arsed to count it. Possibly Avril Lavigne too.

Man, I listen to a load of shit at times.

I'm not at my laptop, but from what I can remember...

Beatles discography

Zeppelin discography

The Who discography (which I've deleted a bit of)

Bob Dylan discography (not including rarer songs, I've also deleted a bit of this recently)

Red Hot Chili Peppers discography (but I've recently deleted everything but Slane Castle, Hyde Park, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, and Californiacation)

Blind Melon discography (only 3 CDs, but I've got a few full live shows too)

Nirvana discography

Coldplay discography (lawl I know, there's a live CD or two in there too :( )

Wu-Tang Clan discography

A large portion of Mos Def's and Talib Kweli's discographies

I'll edit this later when I'm at home and can check my thoroughly, but those are the big ones that are off the top of my head.

I'm not even a completist or anything, but I have 68 over their studio albums.

I'm confused, but I'm going to take a stab that you misunderstood what I meant. What I meant was "I have 25 SOAD tracks on my iTunes, but I actually have all of their albums, so if I counted the tracks I might have 50"... Unless you were just confirming that there are more than 50 tracks...

Either way my head hurts from the confusion and I should probably not try and post tipsy at 2am in the morning, anyway... So I'll come back in the morning afternoon and reread this post... if I remember.

I have loads of music by certain artists still only on CD and not ripped onto my computer. Call me old fashioned if you like :P

For example I have five Sigur Ros albums but only 25 songs on my computer.

Anyway my top artists as far as hard drive go are:

Polysics - 70

Blur - 49

The Clash - 37

Mogwai - 29

Muse - 28

Sigur Ros - 25

Ladytron - 23

Goldfrapp - 21

Jamiroquai - 19

Prodigy - 18

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - 18

I still prefer physical music media like CDs.

I have one-hundred and seventy-four songs by The Pillows. Just in case you needed more proof that they are my forever band.

Also, 183 songs by The Beatles. But that's less important, especially since some of those are just remastered stuff.
