He had a lot of psychological issues in his life, for whatever reason, but in his heyday he was and really, still is, an absolute legend. BBC called him a 'musical deity' I heard a few minutes ago. Everybody knows the name of Michael Jackson, absolutely everybody, and that says something about the resonance of the man I feel.

His Billie Jean was the first song I ever heard and it wasn't until ten years later that I actually understood the brilliance of that song. RIP Michael.

One of my early memories as a child was my parents buying the collection of his videos in the mid nineties. I loved watching them, although Thriller scared me as a child. Despite all the personal stuff, his music was great. He set the bar so high with his Thriller album and never reached that level again, but was still massively successful throughout his entire career.
