Yeah. In a way it was a more impressive version of what happened in the comic version of this story.

Because Terminus is really just an upsized version of the Hunters, whose story pretty much boils down to fatally wounding an already bitten Dale, accidentally eating his leg which the zombie bit which he then mocks them for, and then getting completely annihilated by the group.

This is that story, except with Carol going Clint Eastwood. Gareth is probably going to come back, though. Maybe the dude in the cabin too?

I'm pretty positive that the dude in the cabin is dead. That's the impression I got from the scene at least. Gareth is most certainly coming back, though.

Well, that was fairly uneventful and mostly underwhelming.

It's like it never left!

Seriously? I thought it was pretty non stop the whole time

TKz, you are so wrong here.

That episode was amazing from the start and did not let off the peddle. Edge of my seat the whole time.

While we all knew our heroes weren't going to be that night's dinner in Terminus (thankfully there were four redshirts in front of Glen), I was surprised that they got out so quickly.

There was a ton of action, but I assume that's so everybody gets their fix of walker-death porn.

It was a good show, excited to see where the year takes us.

Also, where's Beth?

Beth is gonna be involved in the future judging by the season trailer and comments by showrunner Scott Gimple on Talking Dead.

What a crazy good episode. I don't see how anyone could have not enjoyed it. They went pretty full on right from the top and managed to tell a good story from start to finish. This is the Walking Dead I enjoy. Gruesome kills, good character development, good dialogue and something to look forward too for the season as a whole.

MORGAN!

I pay very little atention to what happens these days, i absolutly missed the moment were carol knew it would be a good idea to go all genocite on Terminus. I thought she was checking the place out and sudenly everything just starts to happen.

Comic

I actualy don´t think this was just a blown up version of the comic story, it had nothing in common but the fact that there are canibals.

The entire storyline of Dale being bitten, wandering of into the woods to not be a burdon to the group. The Tainted meat line just as much as the decision of how to fight back. It was a lot darker and had more debth than this. This was pretty much just OMG BAD GUYS, OMG THEY WERE GOOD GUYS - DEEEEEP, EVERYTHING BLOWS THE FUCK UP, BIG SHOWDOWN WITH RANDOM WOMAN CAROL NEVER MEET BEFORE, BOOM BOOOM SHOOTING ZOMBIES BOOOOOOOM.

Its realy wired how sometimes i think that they don´t do something because it might be to dark for TV, like having tainted meat lie there alive while people are already eating him - but on the other hand they still do something like the killing of the two sisters last season. (well, they cut carl doing it so maybe carol doing it made it a little less terrible?

I liked it. It wasn't their best episode, but...

... it did it's job and was a fun action-packed piece to kick off the series. I'm not sure how much mileage they could have got out of Terminus if they'd have stayed and this way they'll likely have the cannibals on their trail for destroying their refuge, which could be a lot more creepy by having them stalk them.

Carl, Rick and Judith's reunion was heart-warming, and Carol's reunion with everyone was a fantastic reminder of how far she's come as a character.

My only issue was the ridiculous 'slaughter' scene. The amount of red shirts took away any sense of fear that Glen and company would get offed. Could've been done better.

Comic and TV spoilers as well as thoughts on where the story is going.

There was a baseball bat near his head. I thought Glenn was going to bite the big one.

I think they're still going to do the cannibals in the woods story now. I feel like Terminus was put in place just to end last season on something dramatic and to start this one off with a bang.

There's no way they off a main character in the first ten minutes of the season. I thought maybe that Bob might get killed, because we still don't have a real reason to care about him other than that he was DeAngelo Barksdale. But I had no doubt whatsoever that Rick, Glenn and Darryl were surviving.

Shit, Bob is DeAngelo Barksdale? How did I not notice that?

:o

Echoing the slaughter scene, it is quite fortunate that they decided to work from left to right. And all the Judith scenes sent all my daddy instincts into overdrive, so the reunion scene was lovely. Not at all convinced by Kenny Powers' cure plan.

Great start!

Also, has this always been spoilered? I used to avoid the thread for weeks until I caught up.

48 hour rule, so actually it's fair game now.

I care about Bob! I liked his episode last season. I don't care about him as much as some of the rest, but he's pretty likeable.
