OK... I've collected a shitload of wood (Stored in the castle) and though I'd venture this caving system in the hill opposite the EWB Castle (west-ish)

And I found a spider Mob Spawner. So knowing I can't die I stroll on in to check the boxes (Which I just now thought I should have taken too)

and I found some bread, wheat, steel, SADDLES!!! (we have to have pig races :shifty:)

The biggest find. I found 2 Records ^_^ Now we just need diamond and we can have a jukebox.

I have the records on me still, but will put them into the storage box soon...

We need more storage too.

If anyone wants to have a look through.. there's an opening towards the lava flow to the west.

You'll see random lights in the valley = entrance.

**EDIT**

Found a glitch but I couldn't fall into it :shifty:

Might try digging under water

I would like to, but... no... what happend?

It's very odd - I set out to build a little cave near the back of the giant castle at the very bottom... and so I put down a sign that said "Apsham's Back Entrance" and a second later - there was a GIANT explosion that hurt me and blew a hole in the ground and left a crater.

All right, ladies, let's talk good server practices.

1. Don't fuck with anybody else's structures.

2. No hating in the EWBarracks.

3. When you've cut down a tree, clear out the leaves. Replant any saplings you get.

4. Try not to lure creepers near other people's shit. They won't hurt you, but they WILL do structural damage.

5. We need a place for extra picks/axes/shovels. Don't take more than what you need, and reserve diamond picks for harvesting obsidian.

Anything else?

Am I to believe that the EWB castle is the communal gathering spot? Because that's where I've been storing all my wood and such.

Those rules look good. Sorry about the tree thing but I seem to have a problem with everything regenerating while I'm breaking it down :shifty:

1. Don't fuck with anybody else's structures.

In keeping with the spirit of Rule 1, I have created the facade to my cabin.

Don't hurt it. <_<

There are supplies in the chest, though; you're welcome to those. People who are new to the server, look for the giant floating sky-spires; right under that is the cabin. Check the chest and you'll find some sticks, stone, and coal to get you started. There's also a bucket there; I tried an experiment with the lava, and it made the lava disappear. I'll refill it and return it to the community supply eventually.

So I am sure some of you have found my mine shaft near the EWB castle which is open to anyone. I was doing some exploring and found some diamond. I built the juke box and put it in the EWB castle at the top of the stairs. I need to start thinking about what I am going to build as my own personal building.

I have a miniature hut just below your mine shaft entrance. It has a box with some picks, spades, axes, random swords (in case we can kill the creatures in an update) and a couple of Bows.

I'm currently tunneling under the castle. Will look to create a couple of shafts in there

And for those who haven't figured it out yet (accidentally) If you have a pick axe and it's running out of "life"

Just press 'Q' to discard it, then pick it up again and it's refreshed (Y)

Killing creatures and PvP will come sooner rather than later. It might already be in the halloween update on the 31th. If not it will follow shortly after because the online multiplayer has a priorety right now. So produce your stuff secure, not like i did the castle with 635 holes in it. >_>

I like the idea of rules, but lets have fun non the less. Blandly distroying somebody elthes work sucks, but adding a room, digging deeper in a mine or pulling a joke should be ok. It´s multiplayer, there should be the beauty of returning and being surprised about what happend, how people continued were you left of ect.

At least thats how i see it, feel free to alter the casle however you want as long as you don´r burn it to the ground or leave it open to monsters.

So since everyone's doing the screenshot thing, I thought I'd chip in my two cents.

<img width="1024" height="576" src="http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/3701/screen01dk.jpg">

So we start off with a shot of the mountain I've claimed. Started out with the little hole in the wall down the bottom with the door and the glass, but I've dug both down under the mountain and up to the peak to build shit, hence the waterfall. I just decided that a waterfall from the overhang (that spits in the face of physics) would be cool.

<img width="1024" height="576" src="http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/4489/screen02yg.jpg">

This is the interior of my starting cave, and it's my work area now. To the left is one of the tunnels I've dug, which you can't see, and behind the chest is the other tunnel, which you can sort of see. It's a tad cramped, but it doesn't need to be massive. Around the corner past my workbench are the spiral stone stairs that lead up the mountain - I didn't bother screenshotting them because they're boring, but I'm planning on levelling out each landing a bit more so there's more room. Also I once heard a zombie at one of the landings so I think it might be bordering on a hidden cavern.

<img width="1024" height="576" src="http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/9592/screen03g.jpg">

Here we find my lookout on the peak of the mountain, complete with windows and skylight. It has no real purpose at the moment beyond safe entry to the peak so I can mess about with the water and whatnot, but I'm considering removing almost all of the torches on the peak and keeping the peak as a hunting zone, so it would sort of turn into a hunting blind (I say almost because I need torches to keep the water flowing - otherwise the springs would freeze).

<img width="1024" height="576" src="http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/4343/screen04yv.jpg">

This is the view from above my greenhouse, which I carved into the side of the mountain. The ocean is within a day's round trip, so if I ever need water I can go in that general direction. There are other lakes along the way that are frozen, but that's easily fixed so I can nab more water.

<img width="1024" height="576" src="http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/7291/screen05r.jpg">

This is the inside of my greenhouse. The water in the middle is to keep the ground hydrated so I can grow lots of wheat, but it hasn't been running for long - I had it going for a little bit before a fuckup with the water flooded the place and ruined my plants, so I had to go harvest more seeds and replant. It's now been fixed, but it also...

<img width="1024" height="576" src="http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/3618/screen06v.jpg">

...comes out in this massive waterfall here. The size of the waterfall was completely unintentional, and I'm not sure how it wound up so large, but I don't really care, I think it's cool. All of the water that flows down the mountain is fed via a series of channels I dug into a lake, which then feeds into a tunnel I started digging but couldn't be fucked finishing, so it all sort of dead-ends there.

I might take more pictures of various places later, but those are the main points of interest in Mount X (named just this second). It may not be a sprawling manor like Sousa's made, but I honestly don't have the patience for that. And besides, I like the fact I'm hollowing out a mountain to live in.

And a shit-load of night creatures lurking...
