I've been to Gypsy Tears in Cleethorpes...that makes me an honourary Grimsby fan.

The ITV digital deal collapsing really fucked them up and they've never really been the same since. Back to back relegations, floundering in League 2 and then struggling initially in the conference before making it to the playoff semis twice. Be nice to see them back in the Football League.

Gypsy Tears is a dive.... Like most bars in Grimsby/Cleethorpes

They opened up a new "cocktail" bar last year, the cocktails were friggin' awful, they all tasted like the cheapo ones in 'Spoons

Were the only two cocktail choices between pitchers of Blue Lagoon and Sex on the Beach.

I miss living across the road from a non-league team (11th tier club New Bradwell St. Peter FC). There's sod-all near my current house.

I remember once putting my address into a "find your nearest non-league team" website and it suggesting that I drive 20 miles to Aylesbury to watch them. Um, no. No one wants to visit Aylesbury even at the best of times.

Depends how non league you want to go, there must be a local side in either your town/village or a neighbouring town.

Upon further investigation, I am annoyed that the nearby village of Loughton (approx. 1.5 miles away) not only had a football team until 2007, but it was wonderfully named 'Loughton Orient'.

I used to see Rossendale United's floodlights from my bedroom window as a kid. They no longer exist.

My old local non league team would have been Leyton FC but they folded, so it would be Clapton FC (up the 'tons!).

But now it would be Braintree or Witham and I care diddly squat about them.

I'm a five minute walk from Barry Town's ground! It's like the Nou Camp in comparison to other teams at their level now. They used to frequent the early rounds of the Champions League and UEFA Cup. IIRC, they just got promoted again and will play in Welsh League Div 1 next season. I'll have to get down as often as possible.
