No one achieved better results than we did post-World Cup. Sure, nothing is certain, we might get spanked by Argentina in the Copa America but we went through two top teams in these last 8 months. Something that only Argentina (who we beat) did.

4th September France 1 - 0 Spain

11th October France 2 - 1 Portugal

There are also several teams in the top 20 of the FIFA rankings who, like Brazil, are unbeaten since the World Cup. Unlike the Harlam Globetrotters that Brazil basically are though, most of them have played actual competitive football (as an aside, one of the teams - Costa Rica - is unbeaten in normal play since June 2nd 2014).

So, a qualifier against Lithuania is better than a friendly against France?

And the idea of the Harlem Globetrotters is silly. How long has it been since we played attractively?

There's no point in comparing friendlies and competitive games, they're apples and oranges.

It's just a ludicrious statement to say that Brazil are the best team in the world based off a load of friendlies when 8 months ago they were dismantled by Germany and comprehensively beaten by the Netherlands in their last two competitive games.

Very funny, Niner. "Haha, it's April Fools Day, time to put one over on the lads at EWB by telling them Portugal lost to some minnows."

Current world rankings:

37 Wales

38 Cape Verde Islands

39 Scotland

I was reading yesterday that Wales will be 22nd in the April World Rankings, and will mean they'll be in pot 2 when the draw for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers is made. No way are they anywhere near 22nd, but being in the 2nd pot gives them every chance of qualification!

Still, let's make the Euro's first...
