Speaking of injuries...

John Terry, Frank Lampard, Ramires and Mikel will not be fit to compete for tomorrow's match at the Liberty Stadium. Drogba and Kalou are of course still in Equatorial Guinea.

This basically guarantees the following line-up:

Cech, Ivanovic, Luiz, Cahill, Cole, Romeu, Malouda, Meireles, Mata, Torres, Sturridge

...Since, other than Essien and Bosingwa, we don't really have any other players left. <_<

Can't really foresee a win coming from all that.

That RVP incident is shocking, in fact, that entire rule is shocking. I get that referees shouldn't be undermined but when they blatantly get it wrong, fuck that.

It annoys me because the rule assumes that referees are infallible, which they obviously aren't, and no one expects them to be. Horrible rule.

Someone posted here earlier about how every outfield Man Utd player has been injured at least once, well the keepers are joining in...Lindegaard left training wearing a protective boot while De Gea has a virus, Ben Amos will be starting against Stoke if De Gea can't shake it off.

We're on a horrible run with injuries at the moment, I heard about Lindegaard's ankle yesterday and it sounds like ligament damage so he could be out for a while. First I've heard about De Gea's virus, hopefully he can shake it but Amos isn't too bad to be honest.

Confirmed players not in United squad for tonight; De Gea, Lindegaard, Vidic, Jones, Fletcher, Anderson, Cleverley, Young, Nani, Owen, Rooney.

That means probably Amos in goal and a recall for Kuszczak to the first-team squad. With no Rooney or Nani as well Stoke will be a huge test for us tonight and we have to be taking the three points to keep the pressure on City.

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has launched an appeal to the Premier League against the fine of six weeks' wages imposed on him by the club, BBC Sport understands.

Tevez was fined £1.2m after being found guilty of gross misconduct, and lost a subsequent appeal to the club's board.

The Premier League will now need to schedule a hearing, although it is unclear when it will take place.

The ongoing dispute has cost Tevez, 27, £9.3m in wages, fines and lost bonuses.

It is still the case that the player is not expected to leave Manchester City before the transfer window closes on Tuesday evening and the decision to appeal against the fine will further complicate any return to the club.

The saga began when Tevez was fined two weeks' wages after boss Roberto Mancini alleged the striker refused to come on as a substitute during City's tie against Bayern Munich in a Champions League tie in September, although the Argentine claimed there had been a misunderstanding.

He left for South America and was fined six weeks' wages following the charge of gross misconduct, while it is understood that he has not been paid his salary, estimated at £200,000 a week, since the end of November.

Prior to the Bayern match, Tevez had also forfeited £6m in loyalty bonuses because of his previous requests to leave City, to whom he is under contract until June 2014.

He has been linked with moves to AC Milan, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain during January, but a deal is yet to materialise - with Mancini insisting City will only consider a permanent move, not a loan.

A Premier League statement read: "The Premier League received correspondence from Carlos Tevez last night giving notice of Mr Tevez's intention to appeal against a disciplinary sanction imposed on him by his club, Manchester City.

"Premier League rules allow for players to appeal disciplinary decisions under Section K and the Premier League Board will consider this request at the earliest available opportunity."

Really, Carlos?

I said this at the weekend was only wrong by the width of a crossbar, so here goes. *deep breath*

Andy Carroll is going to score tonight. I can feel it.

If you keep saying this every time Liverpool play you may get it right at least once by the end of the season.

But probably not.
