Madden NFL 13

Yeh I like the idea of a franchise league and a position league whether that be everyone being the same position or different ones.

I want to be a punter :(

Kicking bomb after bomb, I'd be like Jags 3rd round pick Bryan "Legatron" Anger.

You sure have lofty goals. :shifty:

As far as position wise, we can rotate positions if everyone is up for that? Like the first year we can have all of us be QBs, then the second RBs, WRs, so on and so fourth.

Really like the new physics here. I mean it's spotty at some points, but overall it's very realistic when comparing it to an actual real life NFL game. Loving it. How's everyone doing with the new total passing control? I like it but I don't really see such a big difference when I'm using it.

Plus I miss the fact that I can't hush the crowd down. :(

EDIT - Forgot to mention I had a crazy INT with DeAngelo Hall. The safety interrupted the pass and forced an incomplete, but just as the safety, WR, and Hall all crash into each other - Hall snatches the ball off the WRs foot and gets an INT before it hits the ground.

I wouldn't mind having a league with a restriction on what type of player we can choose. Whether it be they have to be a backup when we start or their overall rating has to be below 80 or something.

Shouldn't we all just create our own rookies?

I thought that would be fun, see if any of us could get HoF.

Tried the demo. I dunno. At the root of it, the actual gameplay doesn't feel too different from Madden 12. The new engine creates all sorts of wonky movements, ragdoll physics almost. There's a weird blurring effect going on that I don't really get the point of. The commentary is an improvement from last year, but that's not really saying much as even in a 20 minute game I heard the same things over and over.

I do want to try out Created Careers, but not sure I can justify the $60 price tag. I'll give it a rent or wait to get it in the bargain bin.

Just feel lucky they got commentary into the demo, it's a big ask given the limitations, I'm surprised there wasn't more repetition to be honest. And I loved the reactionary stuff when I shifted my line across or brought the corners to the line. The presentation as a whole is much more involving. The commentary sounds a little flat at times (I had a 20+ yard rushing TD to take a one point lead going into the final minute and just got a sort of monotone "oh, he's scored and with not much time left"), but the stat overlays, the replay angles, showing the kicker warming up on game-ending drives etc. It's brilliant. One thing that did irk me was during a close-up replay of a spiraling football being caught, the spinning animation on the ball cut out way before the dude caught it, so it was just moving flat through the air for a good 6 feet.

I like the idea of two leagues.

Franchise and something else. I'd love to have it where we all play one position but that might not be to everyone's tastes, maybe a free-for-all one?

I'd like to keep up the traditional EWBFL, and then have a side one where we're all rookies trying to make it into the HOF. Ideally, we'd all be the same position as ?I imagine it's a lot easier on a QB than any other position, unless the legacy score compensates for that.

I would love to be a kicking specialist, or even a special teamer. Like those guys that are third or fourth on the depth chart but earn their spot through playing well on special teams, and then work their way up to playing their position proper. In fact, I'd love a placekicker mode where the intensity of the situation produces affects like screen shake or controller rumbling, and a more involved kick process. Maybe like in the high jump in the old track and field games where you have to time your button presses to your player's strides. Alas, if it's anything like the old Superstar mode, you're locked out from kicking/punting.

EDIT: Forgot to add, if we do do multiple CC's, I'd be willing to run one of them, especially with the web app making it easier to control away from the console.

That looks tremendous. I'm sure we give that a year or so, and it'll prove to be as amazing an innovation for the series as franchise mode was back in Madden 99. Makes me want to buy the Sunday Ticket thing, too. Dammit.

Lots of NFL Head Coach stuff has made it. So excited for this, the possible replay value is amazing.

Yeah, and hopefully without the 8,000 menus of NFL Head Coach, this will be well done. I think I've heard an interview that the guy who was behind the ideas around Head Coach is doing this one, but I imagine because it's Madden, he's getting a little more backing on making these ideas viable to the player.

Any news on whether or not you have the option to start Franchise mode prior to the 2012 draft? As in do this years draft over like you could in Head Coach. It'd be interesting to start a franchise by moving up as the Browns to nab RG3 or go the Colts and take him.

Don't think you can do that which is a shame, I took Matt Ryan for the Dolphics on HC09 which was pretty neat.

Nice to see they've got in proper draft picks this time around though.
