As much as I'd like to see a comprehensive roster as well.. I see where they're coming from in all honesty. Beefing up the create-a-wrestler system is something that I have always seen as preparation for something like this happening. These days people can not only make (I mean before, people could make just about anyone - but they had to be creative about it and then they would hopefully create a formula that would take ages to make) and these days.. we can just straight up download the stuff that we need. With it being better than it ever was.

I'm hoping at some point, now that we have an attitude era themed WWE game, that we will eventually get a WCW vs WWE game. I know they tried to run the angle in WWE 12, but with the roster they had it was such a stretch. I think if they made it a point to seek out many of the big names for Legends/Game deals, it could be really fun.

Seriously though, my thoughts on the roster are pretty much the same as it was when it was first leaked. The current roster is fine. But the Attitude Era one is just meh to me. Just way too many duplicates. Ledesma says that the Attitude Era versions of guys will have their own unique movesets and entrances.

Entrances, sure. But movesets? I doubt it. What's really going to be different? 1999 Big Show won't have a knockout punch. 1999 Jericho won't have a Codebreaker. 1999 Undertaker won't have the Hell's Gate or Last Ride. Hunter Hearst Helmsley will have different taunts than his other HHH counterparts. That's about it.

All in all it's really not a whole lot different than there being 2 Cody Rhodes' last year. But by making them their own roster spots they can artificially tout the largest roster to date. Same thing really with JBL, thuganomics Cena, and modern Edge/Lita. They'll have a different entrance and theme, that's about it. The only "surprise" was Laurinaitis getting in and I assumed he'd always get in as a NPC for Story Creator mode.

In the end, it all comes down to gameplay and I got bored of the last few games very quickly. Not a day 1 buy for me. I'll rent first and see how it goes.

If the servers actually don't blow and they improve Universe and I end up getting this...it may be the first year where I don't download the entire missing current roster. I'll use most of the CAW slots on Angle, the Hardys, Dudleys, the rest of the Radicalz, and of course all of the hardcore division guys.

I found that, not a bad list. I'm a bit disappointed to not have Tensai, Ryback, or Cesaro but not too worried either. I'm a bit surprised Justin Gabriel made the final cut, but pleased since I'm a fan of his. Also, I love that Vader made it on the legends roster, I may pick this up just to fuck some lives up with Vader.

Why are we surprised that Claudio didn't make the deadline? He debuted well into the summer, did he not? Tensai surprises me a bit, since he was the same night that Lesnar came back, but whatever. So does Ryback, actually. I'm not all that miffed, though. It's still a day one purchase for me. I'm STILL playing WWE '12 (apparently I'm the only one?), so that's not an issue for me.

Not too pleased that all these different slots are taken up by duplicates of existing roster members, just with different attires and movesets... but hey, whatever. Are they all going to be on one character select screen, or will there be a "current day WWE" and "Attitude Era" roster screens? I hope it's the latter, really.

So, to be clear... we get 1998/early 1999 Triple H? Not the badass late 1999/early 2000 Triple H with the "My Time" theme? :(
