EWB's All-Time Favorite Album: 2012 Edition

I'd prefer a list that takes longer to count out where people are able to chose more albums personally. I'll obviously still submit a list regardless, but as SRN, would probably be more likely to strategically vote if I am limited to 20.

But twenty is already a lot to count :(.

A lot of bands I can't help but think are missing from up there, but who I couldn't decide on a single album by. It's quite similar to last time we did this, and I've tried to do a mix of albums I think are objectively "the best", or essential listening, and personal favourites, or albums I listened to an awful lot of when they came out. It took a lot of willpower to not vote for "I Get Wet" by Andrew W.K.

TroutMaskReplica is awesome, and deserves mad respect for putting Pharoah Sanders on his list.

I've decided the theme for this ballot will be 'suitably mental'. There's a few albums I had to leave out. And that's terrible. A lot of these wouldn't and didn't make my top artists list, but I like to think that these twenty albums are all works of absolute genius and need to be experienced. Plus I figured I'd try and go all out and make a list of twenty albums that likely have no chance of appearing on the finished list. Like, at all.

Some Greatest Hits albums have entirely new songs, new versions of songs, b-sides and rarities. Some, though not many, albums are put together in this way through piecing together old, unreleased songs into a collective body of work. The great majority consist of songs already released just put back in a compilation format.

It depends on how liberal fr34k wants to be, it's his call. as VP said, if you genuinely consider something a favorite of yours then I wouldn't have a problem with it. I only bring up the definitions to help him decide exactly how he wants to draw the line.
