Bioshock: Infinite

Anyone looking to pick this up? It looks fantastic and considering Bioshock is still my favorite game of all time, I'm sure I won't be disappointed with another installment. Once I can gather enough cash I'm grabbing a copy. Here's a pretty great review of the game (Fairly spoiler-free) by Adam Sessler.

Okay - there's been two moments so far that make me remember why Bioshock was so fucking good.

1 has to do with the concept behind the game, which I never followed

So.. wow. While overbearingly religious everything just seems so nice and well focused.. and then when you win the raffle and you get to be the one to throw the baseball at the interracial couple.. wow. I kind of wondered if that would come into it. There's some.. strong, strong, strong commentary in this game.

2 has to do with a moment in the game after you grapple glide around rails for the first time.

When you get to the base of the tower and there's a couple dozen officers there ready to mow you down.. and the Prophet orders them all to stand down and they just stop.. and get down and start praying. You're free to just mow them down but I just kind of slowly walked among them.. too freaked out to do anything.

But man, this is the kind of game that makes you take in its beauty every step of the way. Woah.

I learnt yesterday that the voice of Elizabeth is one Courtnee Draper, once a helping hand in the blossoming of my love for redheads on Disney's 'The Jersey' whilst holidaying in the America's at the turn of the Millennium,

Right, that's my useless nonsense done. See you all again in about 3 years when I get round to playing this.

I love it, and it's going to take me an absolute age to complete as I'm constantly stopping to look at all the posters and listen to the conversations of passers by. Love the attention to detail. I've just arrived at Monument Island after 3 and a half hours.

I'm the same exact way. That's where I was when I stopped last night.. once Elizabeth is with you, it's amazing too. She's running around, looking at things, making comments and interacting with people and when fighting starts she'll run off an hide - you don't have to worry about escorting her, and she'll throw you health items, money and ammo spontaneously. It's the most brilliant use of a companion type thing I've ever seen.

This game is so beautiful. I just spent so much time looking around. I do have a question involving a very early game moment though. If you've passed the first hour you should have seen it.

Winning the raffle...ok so there was no way I was throwing the baseball at that couple. Did anyone do it? Do they still attack you if you throw the baseball at the couple?

I can't imagine throwing it at the couple, aha. But I looked it up and you aim at them - but they still catch your hand when they notice the mark.
