Summer Transfer Window Thread 2015

£28.5 mil seems pretty low considering what you paid for him, would be surprised if that went off, unless there was some sort of player-swap involved.

Guardian reporting we're interested in both Berahino and Bolasie. Apparently West Brom want something like £25 mil for Berahino, while we don't wanna pay more than £15 mil. Defo wouldn't wanna spend that much on Berahino.

Hull City have also made a double signing, bringing in former Newcastle United defender Ryan Taylor on a free transfer and Chesterfield midfielder Sam Clucas for a reported £1.3m.

Stoke City's 21-year-old Austrian keeper Daniel Bachmann is heading to SPL outfit Ross County on loan.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal will wait until the last minute before deciding whether to keep four youngsters at the club.

Manchester Evening News report Van Gaal has yet to decide whether Andrea Pereira, Jesse Lingard, Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair will have first-team opportunities this coming season.

Van Gaal is said to be prepared to delay decisions on Pereira and Lingard until the final week of the transfer window to make sure he has enough cover in every position.

Di Maria going would leave us with Mata, Young, Depay and Januzaj who could play wide.

Given that LVG seems to want to play Depay centrally, I'd imagine we'll be in the market for another wide player. If not, then Perreira and Lingard would almost certainly be involved.

My guess is that Di Maria leaving and Pedro coming in is the most likely scenario.

Andre Wisdom is close to joining Norwich City on a season-long loan only two months after signing a new four-year contract with Liverpool. The 22-year-old had been expected to challenge for more regular first team football at Anfield next season, with Brendan Rodgers looking to promote homegrown talent and the defender committing his future to Liverpool until 2019. However, he is set for the third temporary move of his Liverpool career after newly promoted Norwich offered a tempting £1.25m loan fee for the season. Alex Neil, the Norwich manager, is keen to strengthen his defence while Liverpool’s £12.5m acquisition of Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton would have an impact on Wisdom’s opportunities at right-back. The deal is expected to be finalised in the next few days. Wisdom spent the bulk of the 2013-14 campaign on loan at Derby County and was last season loaned to West Bromwich Albion where, after an encouraging start under Alan Irvine, he lost his place after Tony Pulis became manager and made only two appearances, both as a substitute, after 31 January. Another defender, the Paris Saint-Germain left-back Lucas Digne, has been linked with a summer move to Liverpool but it is understood the Anfield club are not pursuing a deal for the France international.

I'm semi-surprised Andre Wisdom won't be included in the squad this year because Brendan is talking about essentially having 2 teams one for the league and one for the Europa League. But on the other hand, young defenders are probably better off getting regular football at smaller clubs.

According to Emanuele Giulianelli (who was right about Newcastle's Mitrovic and Mbemba deals way before they got official), Newcastle are set to make an actually SHOCKING 35M bid for Valencia's Nicolas fucking OtamonsterOtamendi.

Adebayor is having a medical at Aston Villa tomorrow. Amazed and ecstatic that we're finally shot of him.

Aston Villa have now completed the signing of the Cordoba defender José Ángel Crespo. The 28-year-old has agreed a three-year deal and joins for a reported fee of around £500,000.

Abou Diaby, the former Arsenal midfielder, has agreed a deal in principle to join Marseille and is set to reject an approach from West Bromwich Albion.

I'm actually really excited at the prospect of Adebayor at Villa. It's a loan, so it's as risk-free as possible and he has something about him - which is something we lacked big time last season.  Fully understand why Spurs want rid, but I think he'll do well for us this season.

Very happy with our business so far.

Berbatov has been linked to Villa, on a free. Very weird one.

Jordan Veretout is seemingly either on his way to Villa or Leicester.

A motivated Adebayor is undefendable. However his motivation seems to be attached to a spinner wheel that is being held vertically and the "Top tier striker" at the top of the wheel. He seems to have one game a season where you're like "Well MAAYYBE he's back!?"

He's also had his share of external sources holding him back off the field so hopefully he can free his mind up a bit and play well on a regular level.
