Wickham was a player who had potential but for Sunderland he has been pretty garbage...it doesn't help that Sunderland in general are garbage but still.

Newcastle have signed the DR Congo defender Chancel Mbemba from Anderlecht for around £8m, subject to the granting of a work permit. The 20-year-old confirmed last week that he was on the verge of completing his move and a statement on Newcastle’s website revealed the club have been giving the green light to complete the transfer after being granted a governing body endorsement (GBE) for the player at a Football Association hearing on Thursday. Mbemba, who has signed a five-year deal, has still to be granted a work permit but despite his country being ranked outside the top 50 by Fifa, the FA’s decision means it should be a formality. Newcastle United are also closing in on a deal for Northampton Town striker Ivan Toney, reports BBC Radio Northampton. The 19-year-old has played 60 times for the League Two club and scored 13 goals in total since coming through their youth ranks. Toney has attracted interest from top-flight and Championship clubs, reportedly failing a medical before a proposed move to Wolves in 2014. He is due to be in Newcastle on Friday ahead of any potential transfer.

MK Dons have signed ex-England defender Matthew Upson on a one-year-deal following his departure from Premier League side Leicester City. Upson, who has 22 England caps, made six appearances for the Foxes in the top flight and FA Cup last season.

Arsenal are ready to loan the England youth international Isaac Hayden to Hull City. Arsène Wenger believes Hayden will benefit from a spell at Steve Bruce’s club in the Championship. Wenger rates Hayden and he gave him a new contract at Arsenal in February 2014. The 20-year-old made his only senior appearance for the club in the League Cup penalty shootout win at West Bromwich Albion in September 2013. He was an unused substitute in the Champions League last-16 second-leg tie at Bayern Munich in March 2014. Capped at every England level from under-16 to under-20, Hayden can play in central defence or defensive midfield and he is expected to get his opportunity in the latter position at Hull. The deal stands to be the first loan of Hayden’s career.

Connor Wickham has apparently cost £9mil. Sunderland paid £8mil, so apparently his blistering 1 in 7 scoring rate in the Premier League, one decent loan spell in the Championship and one shit one has made him increase in value?

Lol.

Pretty sure Sunderland's fee was up to 12 mil depending on add ons, but yeah probably didn't meet many of them. I mean, he's still only 22, there's still plenty of potential there.
