    Arrow

There was a point in season three or four when he referenced something that happened "five years ago", think it was when he was talking about his return to Starling City, and it was related to what was happening in the flashbacks.

Honestly I don't get the hatred for Felicity. Up until being shot, she's been pretty much her normal self and everything at Palmer Tech with Curtis has been a great, fun throwback to Oliver's initial interaction's with Felicity in season one, and Felicity has been a lot of fun I think. Her crying and breakdown's have been so few I just don't get people's issues with it, especially because to me they've actually made sense. EDIT: The one thing I do have issues with is that every single year of his five years he did something and wasn't just "on the island". Season one and two made sense, season three's jaunt to Hong Kong really stretched the realms of logic for me but I had a LOT of problems with season three, most of which season four has kinda fixed.
  3. Has Sakho always been as awful as he is today? Also, what are the odds on Daniel Sturridge passing the football in the second half?

The mid-season return episode of season 3 completely killed my interest in the series, but I picked it back up a few weeks ago and I've really been enjoying it. I'm up to episode 12 and I don't get the Felicity hate. So far she's been perfectly fine, she's barely cried at all and she's added another layer by being the CEO of Palmer Tech. On the subject of Laurel, again, I don't get the hate and I never have. I think the majority of hate for the character was because everyone wanted Oliver/Felicity and pretty much nothing else. Granted I hated her becoming the Black Canary but that was because it felt way too quick and too forced, but season 4 she's been completely inoffensive. Also I'm obviously the only person who HATES Caity Lotz/Sara. Hate the character, hate the actress (in this, never seen her in anything else) and much, much, much prefer Katie Cassidy/Laurel to her in every way. The big thing I've taken away from watching Flash now is the way the two shows deal with secrets. Flash someone has a secret, they keep it for one/two episodes and then have an overwhelming feeling of guilt and tell the person the secret relates to, who pretty much always understands and forgives them. Arrow, the secret is kept for months, it finally comes out and they the person it relates to hates the secret keeper.
  5. I can't quite express how excited I am for this film. To me, Captain America has been the stand out films in the series and it looks as though this is gonna exceed them all.
  6. I don't really get the big uproar about the Iron Fist casting. Apart from me not being sure about Loras Tyrell being Iron Fist, wasn't he always white? I mean, from day one, Danny Rand is white, so why would they cast him as Asian? I get the idea that it was an opportunity to cast a non-white actor, but the character is a white-American. If he was cast as Asian, they might've gone the mixed raced route which would've pissed people off for not fully committing or gone "full Asian" and annoyed the fans of the character who don't like characters being screwed around with. We've got a Luke Cage series coming and really, Marvel should be commended for what they have done with the character from basically a blaxploitation C-list character into a well-rounded character who is probably just outside of the "core" characters like Iron Man, Spider-Man, Thor and Captain America. If Marvel suggested a Luke Cage series 15 years ago it would've been laughed at and never, ever get made. They have made a lot of good moves in trying to add diversity over the last 10 years but they haven't seeped into the public consciousness yet. I doubt anyone outside of the comic book readers would have a clue that Captain America is now a black man who was formerly known as the Falcon or that there are two Spider-Man's, one of which is black. For the record I love Miles Morales, but if they made a new Spider Man film with Peter Parker and made him black I wouldn't like it because that is not Peter Parker. If you want to make a black/Asian superhero film, use black/Asian superheroes like Black Panther, Luke Cage, Miles Morales, Bishop, Blade, Sam Wilson, Jubilee, Storm because those characters are all established enough to carry a film.
  7. I've decided to get into Flash and I'm really loving it. Arrow completely lost me half way through season 3 but watching Flash from the start, it's just so much more fun and no flashbacks that seem to be made up on the fly
  8. Damn. So yeah, that looks pretty epic. Season One to me is probably the only perfect first season of TV I've ever seen so I cannot wait to see what season two brings.
  9. Hall of Fame Showcase is released on 23rd February. That's something to get me back into the game.
  10. I would happily take absolutely anything in the Harry Potter world if JK Rowling was writing. Hell give me the story about the house elfs who run the Hogwarts drainage system works.
  11. So the Heart of Stone expansion is excellent. The story is great and slides right into the main game and doesn't feel like it's been tacked on. The new characters are all memorable and fully fleshed out, I just can't speak highly enough about it and the whole game in general.
  12. What kinda joke is this? 2016 can sod right off
  13. Not once did I say there was anything malicious about it, I said it was reckless. Obviously it was horrid luck but the way he played/plays, something like that was always going to happen and it just happened to happen on that day to Aaron Ramsey. He did it Francis Jeffers, almost did to Emmanuel Adebayor and has a history of recklessly and dangerously diving into tackles. I won't pretend to see enough of him now to make a judgment, but at that time he was a decent defender with no ability to control how not to tackle dangerously. I'm trying to work out if this Swansea/Watford game is any good or just two teams playing terribly which is making it entertaining.
  14. Oh yeah he was definitely upset, but the problem was he never accepted any responsibility for it. Sure he may have apologised there was no acceptance that the injury occurred because of the recklessness with which he flies into tackles and never attempted to rectify it.
  15. Not wanting to get into it over again, it was a reckless tackle, not mistimed. Shawcross never showed a massive amount of regret and apparently visited Ramsey in the hospital but Ramsey said he knew nothing about it. Shawcross up until recently was always an incredibly reckless player and Ramsey wasn't his first. The fans always target Ramsey and abuse him for the leg break, it is to do with the fact he never forgave Shawcross but why would you forgive someone who never accepted what they did was wrong? Decent game, we were far too sloppy but a draw at Stoke is a good point. Ox was a bit crap again. Also apparently Stoke fans can't tell the difference between 16 and 18 and Ramsey and Monreal as they were randomly booing him as well.
  16. Good to see the Stoke fans haven't forgiven Aaron Ramsey for Ryan Shawcross breaking his leg

    RIP Alan Rickman

Galaxy Quest is a great film. Just so much fun and everyone played their roles to perfection with just the right amount of over-the-topness, but none more than Alan Rickman. Every single film I've seen him in I've enjoyed, he's one of those actors that brings a certain gravitas to their performance and the film that can give it an extra something. Honestly he's even great in Love, Actually. Severus Snape is the role I'll always remember him for. His delivery of "always" gives me chills every single time.

    RIP Alan Rickman

Just said on Twitter that David Bowie was terrible and shocking, but for me personally, Alan Rickman has hit me so much harder
  19. Did anyone else enjoy the Clone Saga or was it just me? I got it when it was re-printed in the UK books and I thought it was really fun. On the same note, I loved the Scarlett Spider and then his run as Spider-Man. I was a huge fan of the costume as well. Wish Marvel Unlimited would make that whole run available.

    Fallout 4

My biggest (only?) issue with this game is the fact I can walk into the Prydwyn with either Nick Valentine or Strong and nobody bats an eyelid. The Brotherhood of Steel should be throwing me off the damn plane at the very sight of them, but nothing. At the very least I should get dragged to a room and severely questioned about my decisions, but it would be quite nice if my companion went "uh, maybe you should take someone else, I'm just gonna pop over to Sanctuary and wait for you". It's a shame and does impact my enjoyment a bit but yeah, just felt like getting that off my chest
  21. It's his book, his story, what's the publisher going to do if he misses the deadline? Sack him? No, they'll just extend the deadline and maybe cut a percentage of his fee. I'm sure he's made enough money for that not to matter to him very much. Sure they could try and sue him but what good what that do them or him? I hate this idea of disrespecting fans, he's putting down on paper a story that came to his head before any fan ever got involved. I was reading a blog post on the "Machete Order" for Star Wars and the author pointed out that regardless how you feel about the Prequels, George Lucas had a story he was dying to tell and whether the fans are happy or not, he did it how he wanted, that is the story he wanted to tell. Same with George RR Martin, it's his story and while we might be gutted about it, he can do what he damn well pleases. To us A Song of Ice and Fire might be a huge deal, but frankly to him, he's got other works he wants to do which may take priority. Also he has said time and time again that he only works at home and because of the success of the show and books he's had contractual commitments to do appearances here there and everywhere, so his time is limited.
  22. I was just coming in here to say that I was concerned that in this game, it isn't so much a case of Everton being shit but Spurs are actually good. But then that happened and now I'm happy.
