  1. Unexpectedly busy day today. When I return this evening, Anime Mafia V sign-ups will begin! 28 spots open, let's see who makes it in.

    1. Ruki
    2. DFF

      DFF

I'll play. I'll probably be Mafia, seen as though its Anime Mafia >_>

  2. Got sucked in heavy by ME1 and loved it to death, but ME2 blew it so far out of the water it looks abysmal in comparison. Like, I still love it but my God did 2 step things up. Kinda like Assassin's Creed 2 did after AC1.
  3. Was doing some thinking recently for a project to work on after Anime Mafia, and I thought... EWB's Top 100 VG Characters Revisited? Maybe?

VG...Characters? Terrible idea. Do a top 100 games list <_<

Video game mural stalled out because time disappeared on me. Top 100 VG list has been done by someone else already on EWB. Characters list is kind-of my thing.

My failed thing, but still my thing.

We need a new and updated top 100 VG!

  4. I can't wait for ME3. Beating ME2 was amazing and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I did everything logically throughout my playthrough as a Paragon Shep. Did all sidemissions, completed all upgrades and did as much shit as I could before even attempting to board the first Collector ship. Got Legion, did his loyalty mission and immediately jumped through the warp to save my crew. In the end, didn't lose a soul to the Collector's. It's all about remembering the strengths of your team and putting the right people in charge, yeah. Especially...
  5. Blah, the name change is bothersome but I'm just going to call it "Avatar: Legend of Korra" regardless so whatever. I sincerely cannot wait for this, though what disappointed me was thinking it'd be out in November and finding out it'll actually be out next year. Am almost positive it'll be worth the wait, but damn it, I don't want to wait Trailer filled me with confidence in this, too. Will be interesting to see how a character like how Korra seems will deal with an anti-bender uprising, nevermind everything else. Can't wait to see Aang as a spirit Avatar, too, and I really hope the rumors that his and Katara's grandson is her airbending teacher are true, because that'd prove to be an interesting touch if done right. All in all I really can't wait to see how the world made by the ending of the third book turned out after all that time. Very excited that they're continuing the series.
  6. So I didn't mention it before, but I switched jobs over from GameStop to Sprint. Now a Store Manager at Sprint, and man it's been interesting. Customer today demanded that I service his out of warranty, non-insured, water-damaged phone and got mad when I explained why we wouldn't be able to. Mad enough to ask for the number to the owner of Sprint to complain. The owner. Just phenomenal.

A guy that used to work in my store worked for Alltel at one time. He told me he and his co-workers had a memory card in the back hidden, so when someone brought in a phone they would check it for pictures of naked women, and if there were any, they'd go to the back and copy them to that memory card. They had thousands of pictures by the time he left. I would love to work in a repair center, though. T-Mobile doesn't have any. :(

  7. Anyone else been following Ao no Blue Exorcist? It's been picking up like crazy and Lorina and I are absolutely hooked into it. It and Fairy Tale are the main two weeklies we have right now to wait on. Also, Lorina's getting me into FMA Brotherhood now... only watched the first episode but so far so good. Can't wait to go a bit deeper into it, I never actually had the opportunity to get full-on into the original FMA so yeah.
  8. Mass Effect as a series has basically stolen me away from the internet for, oh I don't know, it's been like a couple of weeks now. Addicting, to say the least.

Dirty Norro Secret: I did every single Mako mission and loved every repetitive minute of it.

Then again, I played through Assassin's Creed 1 start to finish with a smile on my face and never once complained about the repetitiveness there, so...

  9. Messed around a little with Project Zombie. It's fun, but it just sucks how the zombies can spawn literally right on top of you at times. Still very glitchy but an excellent idea with mostly fantastic execution, aside from the whole occasional unavoidable death thing.
  10. Leaving for Metrocon in Tampa today with Lorina and a group of friends... should be fun. Considering what I'm going as though, I probably won't hear the end of it here >_>

I could make a highly inappropriate comment here that would result in Norro being hastily divorced by his beloved. I will refrain.

  11. Can't wait for this. I'll be running our store's midnight launch for the Duke, got signs planned and prize giveaways. It's all very exciting stuff. Still trying to come up with some good prizes though. And contests for the prizes. Originally wanted to do a flattop contest but our midnight was only confirmed as going down last week so that's a little short-notice to pull on people. Maybe best Duke impressions, trivia, maybe do some blackjack tournament... I've got some ideas flowing. Plus, we've got this massive standee in our store where you can put your face in the hole where the chick with Duke's face is and I thought pictures with the Duke would be a cool little thing. Have people leave their emails and we send them the pictures later on. All in all, I want this thing to be huge. Even though our store is small and chances are we're going to get a small number of people to turn up for it (even when our preorders break 50 there's still usually only 20 people max who turn up) I want to make it worth it for that small group of people. It's Duke Nukem, after-all, you either go big or you don't go at all.
  12. Easy way if you can get enough Glowstone: Make a patterned floor with Glowstone and whatever block you wanted to use to begin with. Easy floor lighting to keep the mobs from spawning plus, depending on your mod, looks hella sweet too. Another way, though significantly harder unless using InvEdit, is to dig a trench two blocks deep in a pattern around the room that you want lit up. Fill the first block level for the entire trench with lava, then cover the second block level with glass. Depending on the blocks surrounding the glass it can look very stylish though, once again, it's tedious and time consuming if you're not using InvEdit (and it wastes a shit ton of buckets). Keeping that in mind, another scenic option is a mid-room lava fountain. Just make sure you've blocked it off well enough that there's no danger of embers catching blocks aflame or anything of the sort. Lots of unconventional lighting methods really. Just depends on how your house/building/whatever is styled and what you think will look best.
  13. Playing through Mass Effect one right now... quite a ways in, gone through every side mission that's came up (right now the only one I'm working on besides collecting materials is the rogue Alliance VI on Luna mission) but have yet to investigate the Geth attacks or activity in the primary assignments portion. Saving those for when the side missions stop coming. Have to admit, I really love this game. I already know that 2 blows it out of the water and so I'm really looking forward to that, but Mass Effect 1 has just really pulled me in. Have been doing this run with my custom female Natalia Shepard, wound up going with the 'Earthborne' and 'Sole Survivor' backstories as they interested me more. Also, since I love sniping I wound up going with the Infiltrator class. Relationships with everyone have been great, I've managed to do a few missions without killing anyone (maxed out my Charm and Intimidate stat pretty quick... sucks that there are still things I'm locked out of in conversation though)... only thing is I know soon as the side missions stop my next mission will see me coming back to the romance threeway drama. Still going back and forth with who to reject. Doesn't help any that ever since I got spoiled about the later mission where I choose who to save, it's only served to make my decision more difficult. But yeah, I've been playing it constantly for days now ever since I finally sat down to try it. Just an all-around fantastic game, I can't believe I've been missing out on this for so long.
  14. Never said forcing. I said it's more apparent. The Wii is a multiplayer system by and large, very few single player games keep people coming back to the console quite like the 360 or PS3-- that's not to say single-player games that make the Wii worthwhile don't exist, though. It's just that you're more likely to need more than just one set of WiiMote & Nunchuk than you are to just need one 360 or PS3 controller. It's definitely not forcing anything on anyone and, again, I'll defend the pricing of Nintendo's controllers because they aren't any more overpriced than any other controller on the market. It's just that what stands out about them is that they're still priced at the same range, when it's more than likely you'll need at least two, if not four Wiimotes and Nunchuks on average for the Wii than you would on any other console. The need for that many controllers is more common on the Wii than any other system, and that's when the price becomes a pain for people. EDIT: Matz, then you could have said that line about any company's controllers, not just "Nintendo controllers are never cheap." Fact is, no controllers ever are, but I highly doubt Nintendo is going to ramp up the price on this one in particular. You have to remember, the tech and hardware behind these things is actually becoming less expensive. Nintendo kept out of the 3D market for so long because they were waiting for the tech to become more accessible to the general public. Will the controllers be up there in price? Probably. Will they be out of reach for most people? Don't really know, but I highly doubt they're going to charge $100 for it.
  15. If you put it in relation of actualy holding the tabelt in your hand it´s pritty natural that your thumbs are up there. Think of it more like holding a book. Nintendos Controlers never have been cheap Norro. Esp. with Wii it felt like they tryed to regain the low cost of the console with the pricing of WiiMote and NunChuck. You still pay about 50€ for that these days, i higly doubt a WiiU controler will be far less than 100€. WiiMote Plus & Nunchuk: $60 PS3 DualShock SIXAXIS Controller: $55 XB360 Controller: $55 PS MOVE Starter Set & Extra Navigation Controller: $125 Nintendo controllers are roughly the same price as any of the others. It's not that the controllers are expensive, it's that the need of extra controllers are more apparent on the Wii than any other console. Furthermore, the Wii was an accessory-driven system, so of course their larger selection of accessories will bump up the price; however, as a singular unit, Nintendo controllers cost roughly the same as any other controller on the market.
  16. Yeah, the controller is the only iffy thing about the console for me. I mean, I loved the sound of a touchscreen controller (having the HUD on the controller in an FPS would be nice, make the screen less cluttered & easier to cycle through options) but that... that's pretty friggin' big. Nintendo's all about competitive pricing though, always seem to have been. All this talk from people about "Oh it's gonna cost so much" is just reminding me of all the talk about the NGP after its features came out. "TWO TOUCHSCREENS?! IT WILL COST SIX-HUNDRED AMERICAN DOLLARS." Yes, the controller does seem expensive, but you can bet Nintendo's more likely to try and cut costs for consumers on something like that to stay competitive in the market. I dunno. The announcement of the Wii was initially met with both skepticism and excitement. This seems to be the same. I have to say that as far as this year of E3 is concerned, Nintendo took it once again for me. The line-up of third party games for the next system, and the implied first-party games coming for it (NEW SMASH BROTHERS OH GOD YES) have me more excited for a gaming system than I have been in a very, very long time.
  17. From what I could tell, it's actually a brand new console Matzat. Otherwise why would they tout its backwards compatibility? New console, but the main focus is the controller, pretty much the same as when they announced the Wii originally if I remember correctly. I mean come on, they're not gonna start making developers excited over a fucking accessory that works with a system that's in the past generation vs. the accessory's slick new graphics and all. They're going to design a brand new console to go with it. In other news, Norro now has to buy a 3DS, a PSVita and, most importantly, a WiiU (God, that name) in the next two years. Soooo much money, nevermind the games... I CAN'T WAIT!
  18. So I guess I may be buying a Vita, money and launch titles pending. That price range sounds fantastic.
  19. ... Matzat, he wasn't blaming the customer, though. He was blaming Sony for misjudging what it was their own consumers wanted to and were willing to do with their products.
  20. "Kinda meh" he says... the show was fantastic and the character development was awesome. I care not for your tastes, sir! Though I have to say that I'd be pissed too if I didn't know that that last episode had an epilogue. All that build-up and the way they ended it, had they not included that bit at the end, would have ruined the ending for me entirely. Absolutely loved how they wrapped things up though. Also, try Claymore for a dark anime. Lots of action and good pacing, albeit the manga was a fair bit darker than the show. Still though, I definitely enjoyed it and I know a few others here have sang its praises before I believe.
  21. Yes please, that would be absolutely lovely. That game was fucking tremendous and got nowhere near the amount of attention it deserved.
  22. Metroid. I've always thought, even after Metroid Prime Trilogy and Other M, that if we ever get to see a 1080p high definition Metroid game, it would be one of the most graphically beautiful games ever made. Their style has always been ahead of the curb in my opinion, and they even pushed the limits with Other M, but... I'll always want more when it comes to that franchise, and I'd love to see a real HD Metroid more than anything. Aside from that? Starfox, Legend of Zelda, F-Zero, FFVII, MGS... and hell, you know what? I agree with Lint, I want HD Battletoads, because that game was the shit as a kid. Double Dragon wouldn't be so bad either. Mother/Earthbound, Star Tropics... shit, really, a lot of Nintendo classics would be amazing. But, again, this is me wanting full high res, not Wii "high res"... I would absolutely love seeing them in their full 1080p glory.
  23. just finished Toradora! and... gahhhhhh, I don't know why it took me so long to watch it, because it was fantastic and I absolutely loved every episode of it. The ending was so great D:

  24. Already have LBP and was planning on buying Infamous anyway as I like to have the physical copies... hrm. How was Wipeout HD? I know I'll likely get Dead Nation since a friend has it and has been wanting me to get it, but yeah.
