  1. Several sources are reporting that Nintendo is planning to release remasters of several old Mario games this year. Venturebeat claims that this will include Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario 3D World, which will have new levels added. I'd be well up for all of that.
  2. I liked Persona 5, but I can't see myself playing Royal for a good while. It's a big time commitment, and with Final Fantasy VII Remake out soon, I'll be concentrating on that. While I think Persona 5 had a better dungeon layout than its predecessor, I generally preferred 4's characters. I thought the focus on changing the hearts of people whose egos had got out of control worked better on paper than it did in reality, especially as the villains tended to be a lot more one-dimensional than the heroes.
  3. I liked the original Resident Evil 2 when I played It back in the day, but I thought it was predominantly tedious rubbish when I played it again years later. The remake is, in my opinion, considerably better, although it still has some irritating holdovers from its source material, particularly in terms of the constant backtracking to complete padded-out puzzle sections. Mr. X is a good means of ramping up the tension, but he does get more annoying than scary after you work out his movement patterns. If I'll give the remake the most credit for something, it's that it dispels the notion that the tank controls and fixed camera angles were essential in the original. The new control system gives you just as much of a feeling of helplessness without forcing horrible movement and awkward perspective on you for the non-combat sections.
  4. Billy Joe Saunders is a cockhead.
  5. England v Croatia from Euro 2004 is being shown on the BBC Red Button today.
  6. I never bothered with Gwent beyond the first time it was introduced in the game.
  7. Both fights can be watched now on the BT Sport YouTube channel. Maybe it's geo-blocked outside the UK, though.
  8. I'm excited to see the Bioshock Collection and XCOM 2 come to Switch. Jedi Academy might be worth a look too if the port's decent.
  9. This is going to be difficult, especially as Notts have been on a very good run lately. The fair thing to do would probably be to promote Barrow, but I understand that could cause some legal arguments. It would be strange to have the EFL a team short again, and that's assuming no other clubs go under because of lost income.
  10. Definitely. Ronaldo kicking the ball around the airport is one of the standout memories of the 1998 World Cup build-up for me.
  11. I've seen Switch consoles with Animal Crossing available for over £500 on eBay.
  12. He might just be bitter about the licence fee.
  13. I had some eShop credit left over, so I bought Animal Crossing. It's really nice and relaxed. The real-time clock is perhaps not my favourite thing, but it could be quite nice to look forward to a little pottering about every day. The Nook Miles game mechanic, which I understand is new, is a great way to incentivise me to get things done. It sort of makes grinding not feel like grinding because there's always a short-term goal to strive towards.
  14. Drawful 2 is free to keep on Steam right now. If you have a PC, make sure you get it.
  15. Me too, coming to think of it. My workplace banned all radios and we weren't allowed to use the internet for non-work-related purposes, so I only found out the results of most matches when I got home. I also missed a lot of the 2014 tournament because I was working nights then. I don't know how keen I'd be to look back at 2010, honestly. I don't remember it being the most exciting World Cup. The constant vuvuzela droning would be annoying too. Maybe laughing at England has its appeal, though.
  16. I finished the main story of The Witcher 3 today. I bought the game at launch and kept stopping to play other games, so this has been nearly a five-year journey. Also, coming to think of it, the fact that the game's nearly five years old seems mad to me. I still think of it as a really recent game.
  17. This isn't an exciting video unless you really like numbers. The gist of it is that the PS5 isn't quite as powerful as the Xbox Series X, although they don't look to be miles apart.
  18. I'm still playing last year's game, but I was traded three times in the first three years of my RTTS career. I started with the Angels, who traded me to the Texans before I'd been called up from the minor leagues. I probably played for the Texans for less than half a season before they traded me to the Red Sox. I kept asking my agent to sort out a trade, and I was eventually moved to the Cubs, where I'm happy to stay. It was very surprising because I'd never been traded in the two previous games I'd played in the series (14 and 16).
  19. Looks as though we'll get a lot more technical information on the PS5 tomorrow.
  20. That's sad. I think Barnet have something like seven home matches left in the season, whereas most other clubs have four or five. That's a fair amount of lost revenue in ticket sales without a definite indication as to when the season will resume.
