  1. He needs to make more god damned Firefly. Fuck his other projects.
  2. Other individual acts might do it better, but the US is unquestionably the most influential and dynamic country in the world as it pertains to modern music. Rock, blues, jazz, hip-hop, rap -- it all originated here. What's more, most of the great foriegn acts were directly influenced by American artists. Not getting all patriotic and jingoistic, but it's a fact.
  3. Dunno if this is in the vein you're looking for, but I was thinking about almost anything by Vangelis (particularly off the Blade Runner OST). Instrumental Alan Parsons Project might work also.
  4. 1. Beastie Boys 2. Guitar Wolf 3. Beck 4. Foo Fighters 5. One Be Lo 6. Public Enemy 7. Elvis Costello 8. Del tha Funkee Homosapien 9. Tom Petty 10. Tokyo Police Club And because I feel like it, an all-time list, too. 1. Operation Ivy 2. Minor Threat 3. The Clash 4. The Pixies 5. Talking Heads 6. Nirvana 7. Ultramagnetic MCs 8. Dead Kennedys 9. Sublime 10. The Police
  5. I'm not MMA fan, but I am a HUGE Cro Cop mark. Can't WAIT to catch UFC to see him high kick the competition into oblivion.
  6. Lots of stuff recycled from the Ali G Show, but still hysterical, particularly the Running of the Jew. "Quick, children! Smash the egg before it hatches into a Jew chick!" Also, this movie has to have set some kind of record for male frontal nudity.
  7. I'll be weeping softly in a corner clutching my Firefly DVDs, if anyone needs me.
  8. Jesus. I guess I'm the only one who plays through as lightside. "No. Quicker, easier. More seductive."
  9. Survivor. Eye of the Tiger. It's like I'm in my very own training video montage.
  10. Simple, striking, and a perennial favorite of mine.
  11. I'd assume that would be because they can't get permission to distribute them. But yeah, it is a damn shame that there are no full season DVDs. I didn't watch the show that much, but whenever I watched, I thought it was awesome.
  12. Favorite show of all time, and probably the most hysterical television show ever. Truly groundbreaking television, and the fact that there's not full season DVDs yet is one of the great travesties of our time. Guess I'll have to keep circulating the tapes.
  13. Glengarry Glenn Ross: Al Pacino, Kevin Spacey, Ed Harris, Jonathan Pryce, Jack Lemmon, Alan Arkin, and Alec Baldwin. Hands down the best ensemble cast in movie history.
  14. This looks super badass and I can't wait to see it. Still wish they'd gotten Tarantino to direct, though.
  15. I liked it too, and agree that it was unique because he was trying something different. I don't see why people thought it was disrespectful though, considering Page re-recorded the song for him.
  16. It's good. Very taut, tense, and moves at an excellent pace. Has a fantastic supporting cast, too. A little unrealistic and over the top at points, but what television series isn't? Worth your money if you've never seen it.
  17. Runaways is probably the only Vaughan title I haven't been able to get into, as I love both Y: The Last Man and Ex Machina, but Joss writing it is more than enough to get me to give it another chance. Fucking awesome to hear that Joss is going to making time for an ongoing title in his life, although he'll be missed on Astonishing.
  18. Indeed it was quality. I will miss him. He was greatness. I knew something was going to happen. I knew it was a set up, I just didn't think the FBI was onto him. I figured his own crew would have killed him, but obviously not.
  19. Same as most other people -- Firefly, Arrested Development, Futurama, Andy Richter Controls the Universe, and Sportsnight. Firefly really burns, though. I still think about how there's never going to be a new Firefly episode and I get physically angry. Also, Undeclared. Really funny, quirky comedy that was more honest and accurate about the college experience than any other show or movie ever has been.
  20. I'm a big fan of the Sony MDR "street style" headphone. They're insanely comfortable so you can wear them for long periods of time, They're small enough to be unobtrusive but big enough to cover your ear comfortably, and the sound quality is decent enough for the price (~$20). I own three pairs -- one for my iPod (fuck earbuds), one for my computer, and one to keep at work.
  21. From what I have seen it is okay. But seeing the Joker with dreadlocks is just weird.
