  1. I can assure you that hope is in very short supply around Leeds currently.
  2. I can tolerate 200 year old zombies but exploding bullets are a step too far.
  3. Finally finished Mario Wonder recently having been chipping away at it from time to time. To echo what I said in the Nintendo thread at release, it's an utterly charming game that has given the 2D element of the franchise a real shot in the arm after the stagnation of the NSMB games over the last 15 years or so. I've managed to snag all the secret exits, wonder coints etc so I'm pretty sure the last thing I've got to do is the final final final level of the Special World. This has so far proved slightly tricky, and whilst it feels a bit cheeky to frown upon what is a bonus section only meant for true aficionados of the game, it has annoyed me slightly. It just feels like trial and error gameplay where you're expected to react to things you couldn't have possibly seen coming so it turns into memorisation where you get so far, die, but then realise what you have to do, so you replay the level and pass that bit you died at, only to die about 4 seconds later and the whole thing repeats itself.
  4. Really looking forward to spending another year with you lads next season. Never really liked them Premier League anyway.
  5. Of the 20 reviews that carry a score that are summarised in that Reddit thread, 18 of them are a 7 or above. Just over a quarter of them are a 9 or above. "Reviews look a bit divisive, guys."
  6. Not sure how well I'd get on playing it as I don't have the patience for those sort of puzzle/adventure type games but the art style looks fantastic. Puts me in mind of something like Coraline.
  7. @probablyoliver Was the hot dog pork, brahmin or mole rat?
  8. Can't believe the complete and utter bottle job that is going on at the top of the Championship right now. Well, at least until Ipswich smash Middlesbrough later today no doubt.
  9. Necrobump because the show is finally out. Might as well use this thread so we can contrast people's optimism from the original announcement vs the finished product. Maybe a name change is in order? (They made a Fallout TV series) I haven't been keeping up on this whilst it's been in production or even in the pre-release hype outside of that one trailer with the vault dweller running into the ghoul before giving him a white meat babyface talk on doing the right thing. I was absolutely on board with that, the juxtaposition of this naive to the world character setting out into the outside world and experiencing all the nasties it harboured. Just got done with the opening episode and it does immediately hit you with the grim reality of the situation which resets the tone somewhat. I've only played 3 and 4, which I imagine is what they're going to draw heavily from, but the scenes in which they established the vault dwellers motivations felt like they perfectly captured the feeling of the equivalent moment from the games. Even something like the moment she steps out into the world for the first time and see's a ferris wheel on the horizon immediately evoked a feeling in me of doing the same thing and seeing some landmark in the distance and wanting to go explore. As far as I'm aware the 8 episodes that have dropped today make up the entirity of the season and they've gained pretty good feedback so far.
  10. Ayling already gone, Dallas retiring, Cooper extremely likely to be released in the summer...we really are approaching the end of an era.
  11. Whilst the untimely passing of Joe Kinnear will put the successes of his playing and managerial career in the spotlight, I'm sure none of us will ever forget the true highlight of his time in football; his media appearances whilst at Newcastle. Who can forget such legendary moments as 'Yohan Kebab' or "Which one of you is Simon Bird?" "Me." "You're a cunt."
  12. So that's who we've got to blame.
  13. Is that the guitar figure? Because I don't even care about wrestling figures and I kinda want that one.
  14. So Keemstar fake died yesterday for April Fools. Everyone naturally saw through this and are actually more upset to find out he's still alive.
  15. Just been to a screening of Seize Them! which is a very British movie. You've got Nick Frost amongst the main characters, Jessica Hynes is in there, Paul Kaye in a minor role and even down the guy who played Martin in Game On back in the 90's. It's about a Queen who gets overthrown but goes on the run with one of her servants and another commoner along the way so it's got this medieval type road trip vibe to it. For a comedy, it didn't get too much in the way of laughs from me or the audience in general so that's probably not the best sign. It's perhaps not in my wheelhouse though as it went a lot for that sort of 'lingering on a joke until it's worn out and then keep going a bit more' thing which I'm not much into. Most of the laughs that were there came from Nick Frost's characters and he did a good job in general, he plays that sort of loveable oaf well so that was a good casting choice.
