  1. This. Up until the early 2000s, you could basically assault receivers in the field of play. There have been eight 5,000-yard-plus passing seasons in NFL history, seven have been since 2008. There have 137 4,000-yard seasons in NFL history, with all but 17 since 1990. It was a different game, even 20 years ago. Brett Favre's TD/INT ratio is 1.5/1. Say what you will about Mark Sanchez, but he won four playoff games on the road in his first two seasons.
  2. There is a part of me that thinks that Avery may have killed Halbach, but there is no way the state proved guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. The investigation was more incompetent than the OJ investigation. But the Brendan Dassey conviction may be the most troubling case of a somebody spending time in prison for a crime they did not commit in American history. How anyone can look at the actions of his second court-appointed attporney and contend that that is not ineffective assistance of counsel is astounding. My hear breaks for that kid.
  3. The basis for the "Machete Order" is that the reveal of Darth Vader as Luke Skywalker's father is still the big surprise of the saga and thus nothing should be known about Vader being Anakin Skywalker, but that is toothpaste that is not getting back in the tube.
  4. Everybody hating everything about the prequels is just one of those things that has just permeated pop culture that people can't watch them without that distorting their perceptions about them. Episode II is really the worst of everything, but TPM (tax policy aside) is a good (not great) movie and Liam Neesons is awesome in it.
  5. The Leftovers being 39th is ridiculous. It was by far the best drama on TV in 2015. For shame on all of you.
  6. NFL schedules for the most part are pre-determined and only two games are based off your previous record. Every team plays: Each team in their own division twice One entire division from within their own conference on a rotating basis (every 3 years) One entire division from the opposite conference on a rotating basis (every 4 years) One team from the other two divisions in your own conference that finished in the same place (1st place vs 1st place and so on) The Lions are due for the NFC East and AFC South next year, plus either the Rams/49ers from the NFC West and the Bucs/Saints from the NFC South
  7. The Leftovers Justified Parks & Rec Mad Men Veep Brooklyn 99 Homeland South Park Last Week Tonight The Man in the High Castle Master of None The Walking Dead Orange is the New Black
  8. Does the February release for Deadpool mean what I think it does or is FOX trying to shoot for a weekend with no competition?
  9. I was thinking about it and I would really love an Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan cameo in a Force vision. I just loved how he played the role, especially in Episode III
  10. The worst part was it was so obvious that it was coming...
  11. Were those things supposed to be Klingons?
  12. Teaser trailer for Star Trek: Beyond, coming July 22nd Not enough to get a real impression other than Karl Urban as Bones is still awesome. It will be interesting to see how this ends up without JJ behind the camera
  13. There are tons of billionaires in the world, how many would be known if they walked into the room right now? Zuckerberg, Gates, Branson, Trump? I'm sure there are tons of tech sector billionaires that nobody knows of outside of Silicon Valley. Out of everything to pick on in from that trailer, I think that point is the silliest to focus on.
  14. I'm very happy about that. Unless they really wanted to delve into the mystery and all that, there is only so much more story to tell.
  15. Every NFL team is guaranteed one national game and with the advent of the Thursday night games (where every team has to play once), the NFL uses the quota for the bad teams on Thursday. I'm not sure if the London games count toward this. But with the NFL wanting to make the Thursday package permanent and on-par with the other deals, that may end as well.
  16. Scott Weiland's ex-wife wrote a brutally honest essay for "Rolling Stone" on the side of him we didn't know. While it's sad to read, I feel it's appropriate to bring it to light. As the child of a serious drug addict, I know the pain his kids experienced their whole lives, it is heartbreaking.
  17. I'm guessing Sarkisian's contract will have very specific language that specifies what is "for cause." USC is a private school, so the details of his contract will only come out in discovery filings. The way he was fired it came off very cold to me. Pat Haden was a great commentator, but it seems like he's been a bit of a disaster as AD at USC.
  18. The former lead singer of the Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver was found dead Thursday night on his tour bus before a concert in Minnesota. So sad. Just shows you again that you ultimately cannot escape the consequences of living such a rough life
  19. When he interrupted the Bruce/Clark conversation with that laugh, it reminded me of the Joker. Also, does anyone find it particularly funny or clever that Luthor has long, flowing locks that no doubt will be damaged so he ends up bald?
  20. Another Zack Snyder movie where there's just 45 minutes of an entire city being destroyed as the climax, great. Maybe it will be better in full context, but Eisenberg was ridiculous in that.
  21. Michael B. Jordan was on Bill Simmons' Podcast and said that even Sly has started to disavow Rocky Vee. Creed was fantastic though, I think that Jordan and Sly will get nominated. I usually never care about this type of stuff, but the directing was awesome. The movie looked fantastic, Ryan Cooler did an awesome job.
  22. ESPN's Ramona Shelbourne reported that Rousey has been taken to the hospital
  23. Paranormal Activity 5 is total dogshit
