I don't want to be a stuck record on this (that's @METALMAN's job), but when his tweet is literally "Barcelona make statement", and they've published that statement in English, do we really need it from Romano?

Barcelona politics are unlike no other, it's crazy. Xavi has been treated absolutely horrendously by Laporta, parts of the press, and the Barca elite. This guy won them the league for the first time post Messi, completely overachieving to do so, and hasn't been bad this season - Real have just been amazing. Guy was being run out of his own club, twice now.

Obviously shouldn't surprise anyone that Laporta met with Hansi Flick and his agent days before firing Xavi too of course.

Barca's squad is nowhere near as skilled or deep as Real Madrid, they have no money for new signings, and are likely going to need to sell at least one major star this summer. The club is an absolute mess, and joke.

It's much easier to just quote Romano though, rather than having twitter feeds littered with club posts that most of the time aren't relevant to anything and are just like "we were good once, here's an old goal".

I'm not sure what point you're making, I haven't suggested a constant news feed from a club Twitter account, just that the actual statement is more useful than Crypto boy saying "there's a statement".

Totally agree, I wish we'd stop with the Romano posts here. He's a twonk.

Guardian report that United have decided to sack Ten Hag regardless of the outcome of the FA Cup final.

I kinda want United to doff City good now. Hate it boards make these kind of decisions. Sure, its not been a great season for them, but surely winning the FA Cup would be prestigious enough.

I've been angry for the past hour or so over the timing of this.

It's since been reported that he was told before the Arsenal game that he'd be sacked at the end of the season which makes it a bit better at least. Worst case scenario would've been all of this coming out and being news to Ten Hag like when we fucked over LVG. We won that FA Cup final though, so here's hoping history repeats.

It won't.

They've finished in their worst league position in 34 years, won't qualify for Europe if they don't win on Saturday - and it's rather unlikely they will - and have had major issues on the pitch all season. It's not really a surprise, and for a team like United winning a cup isn't enough if you are nowhere in the league.

It’s not a ringing endorsement of the new ownership structure that they’ll leak this sort of thing a day before a cup final.

Yesterday it was McKenna meeting United reps and today it’s ETH will be sacked regardless.

Do you want to win a trophy or what?

Well the owners haven't leaked it obviously. But their actions these past few weeks, McKenna meeting last week etc. haven't helped. At least the LVG one was kept relatively quiet.
