If you're on the console you might be fucked; Your dad becomes your human NPC when you leave that quest, so your existing NPC gets booted. Sometimes they return home, but not always. Check Underworld.

I just googled it and they are supposed to wait outside Vault 101 if they are away from the player for a certain amount of time. So I have no idea how he ended up at 112 :/

Finished the game yesterday. Enjoyed it, felt more wastlandy than New Vegas (less roads), but prefered NV, felt like there was more to do (probably due to map size). Need to play again and explore some more, only encountered one Deathclaw (outside the super duper mart for some reason; a random encounter I think). Oh, and had a awesome moment when I was radscorpion hunting and then I get blindsided by one of them mutant bear things, one of my favorite video game moments ever, first time I ever saw one as well.

Ok I finished New Vegas the other day. The core game is far better than Fallout 3. I'm now considering maybe buying the DLC for either one of the games. Which one has better DLC - Fallout 3 or New Vegas? I've read that New Vegas's DLC is pretty shitty.

Broken Steel for F3 is a priority I'd say.

Who told you that? Whoever it was was a fucking liar. Fallout 3 has one essential piece of DLC -> The Pitt. Londsome Road is an absolute must buy for New Vegas, but the story of Londsome Road is sprinkled into Dead Money, Old World Blues, and Honest Hearts. Old World Blues you can sort of skip but it has some awesome stuff that rereferences Dead Money/Londsome Road, and you can skip Honest Hearts, but you miss out on the entire Joshua Graham arc... really, you can't skip anything if you want to experience some awesome storytelling. If you skip the DLC in Fallout 3 you mostly just miss out on loot.

Is there a good stable way to play Fallout 3 on a Quad Core Win 7 PC? I fooled around a bit on the internet, but the only thing that actualy got it working was windowed mode. I could just play it on my laptop put that has the tendency to get a bid louder while gameing while my iMac is silent as a sleeping baby.

I've not played Dead Money because I heard it was entirely linear. The atmosphere seems cool. I had a similar issue with Old World Blues in that the gameplay was a bit frustrating but the setting and story and such were so good.

It's pretty much, fetch this person (three times), escort this person (three times), fetch this, fetch that, avoid the unkillable holograms who fire frickin' laser beams, all whilst avoiding radios and speakers (some of which cannot be destroyed) that cause a collar you are wearing on your neck explode, Battle Royale style and the only loot you get that is worthwhile for a high level player is a decent automatic rifle and an energy weapon.

It sort of felt like an attempt at a stealth game within a game that doesn't do stealth well.

Another bump to tell y'all about this totally amazing/weird ass bug that has started happening on Fallout 3. So I'm just walking along when I find an enclave camp right, no biggie, when Fawkes just starts shooting his minigun straight up in the sky. I go into vats, and see a Deathclaw miles up in the sky. Weird I thought, so I reloaded the save and went back to the camp. This time, I got close to this Deathclaw and it did that jumping attack thing that it does. Except instead of jumping at me, it jumped upwards, never stopping, continually rising. To test this even more, I went to the ghost town where all the Deathclaws are and they all did exactly the same! Tl;dr teleporting/jumping deathclaws!
