I mean limited in the sense of it wrapping up those characters/stories.

Oh, gotcha. I think in television world, limited series simply means "determined end date", but I think today the meaning is "we are giving it one season, but if it gets good ratings, it gets more..." Under the Dome started as a limited series, but got expanded.

I think if you want something that wraps up the stories, the television buzz word is anthology series, which is when each season is self contained.

I wish Under the Dome was an anthology, that way I could get multiple hours of my life back that I spent less than half-watching that dogshit.

That's the one!

I think they pick the limited series term, because they can be like "oh, well, it was SUPPOSED to end after the first season, so it wasn't the ratings that got it canceled" or "well, the ratings were so good, we HAD to give the fans another season with the same characters!".

I've seen the first two. Baddarina watched them and recommended it. Very impressed so far, but there's still 8 episodes to go (is this a one off season or something that will have more than one?) so there's plenty of time for things to slow down and get repetitive. For now, it's good!

I thought the same thing after the first two.

Then I watched the third one.

Now I have no idea.

Literally nothing I thought was going to happen happened.

Second episode of Wayward Pines down but I find myself not at all caring about the big mystery. Also...

... killing the only character I've given a shit about. Great(!)

One more episode to make me give a shit and then I'm calling it.

That's part of it and it's definitely the reason why there's so many recently but it's basically network speak for "cable lite". Shows with shorter episode orders and aired during periods where they typically don't have new series (winter or summer breaks). It was their answer to cable showing that people watch TV during the previously thought of dead periods.

Was The Oeder Games the season finale of Bob's Burgers? I had it down for 22 episodes but that only makes 21 and nothing else seems to have aired.

Ep3 of Wayward Pines is best so far. An hour a week during TV's quiet time seems fair to give it a chance. I'm in.

I think Bob's Burgers aired two new episodes in the same night (one before the Simpsons and one after Family Guy), did you miss either one of those?

Hawk and Chick and Oeder Games? I watched them both, still only makes 21. Was that them blowing off final episodes?

Wayward Pines Episode 4 was pretty good...

Killing off the worst part of the show in Terrence Howard is good, and Dillon's character becoming sheriff, whilst predictable, should make things at least a little more interesting.

What was that creepy guy at the end?!

:o Also, previews for the next one say the secret is revealed, so we'll see if that's true.
