Man, once you get down to the final dregs of Civs you've not played as, the game becomes tedious, especially when trying to hit some of the weird Civ specific achievements. Think I might just up the difficulty and have fun as Venice again.

Does anybody know of a good future tech mod? I'm tired of reaching the 'end point' and basically doing mop up duty with nothing else to aspire to but getting more future tech.

Kind of wish the game would just seamlessly move into Beyond Earth tech once you got the Future Tech stage

I mean this in the nicest way, but how are you getting to that stage without having won?

Turning diplomacy victory off? I can't imagine getting to that point before somebody gets one.

I've set it to only allow a domination victory, because otherwise I win by diplomacy or culture before that point.

For real, there's no bigger advantage in the game than that period of time when you have artillery and no-one else does. So much chaos.

Yeah, that sounds like there's something up with your computer because if anything it should be faster reading off your HD than going through your CD drive.
