Euro 2012

Portugal. Im not saying they look toothless, but they came pretty close, apart from the Pepe chance in the 1st half they didnt have a lot to come with. They might have defeated Spain in a friendly. But 4-4 against Cyprus in the qualifiers werent good. And they have looked far from good in 2012. The team spirit sometimes seems non-existent They will be coming out with all guns blazing on Wednesday, if they do not know their place, then it is bye bye. (Y)

Denmark: Im stunned. Simply put. Lucky as hell as my fellow countryman have pointed out, but it stands and Denmark sits on top in Group B along with Germany. We have had good experiences against Portugal in recent times, so that is kind of a dream opponent. What Denmark needs to do from here is to cut the number of chances given to the opposition. I highly doubt we will be as lucky with Portugal or Germany. Its simple, you cannot keep such big teams from scoring if you give them those many chances. The key is that no one really expected anything from Denmark.

Oh and all those harsh words i had to eat gave me a stomach ache

When we drew Cyprus we didn't have a coach (Queiroz was suspended and not fired yet), so not much to go by. We beat you at home when we needed to do so, and lost in Denmark when a draw would be enough. And we beat Bosnia 6-2 in the playoffs... Not that I firmly believe that we win, come Wednesday, but I wouldn't count us off. Hell, I expected us to do much worse agains the Germans tonight.

Uefa has begun disciplinary proceedings against the Football Union of Russia for "improper conduct of supporters" during Friday's Euro 2012 game against the Czech Republic in Wroclaw.

Four stewards needed hospital treatment after being attacked by fans in the Municipal Stadium in Poland.

And claims of racist abuse directed at Czech defender Theodor Gebre Selassie, who is black, are being investigated.

The Control and Disciplinary Body will review the case on Wednesday, 13 June.

A Uefa statement read: "Having looked at the security reports and available images, Uefa has today announced that disciplinary proceedings have been opened against the Football Union of Russia [RFS] for the improper conduct of its supporters, the setting off and throwing of fireworks, and the display of illicit banners at Friday's Uefa match."

Anti-racism campaigners claimed Czech defender Theodor Gebre Selassie was the victim of monkey chants during Russia's 4-1 victory, while footage seemingly shows Russian supporters attacking stewards in a walkway of the stadium.

The Fare [Football Against Racism in Europe] network confirmed one of their observers at the match heard "fleeting" racist abuse of Gebre Selassie.

Asked if it included monkey chants, Fare chief executive Piara Powar said: "Our observer reported descriptions of that nature.

"It was directed at the Czech Republic's only black player," Powar said.

Footage of the incident involving the stewards has emerged online, with Uefa releasing a statement saying they are aware of "a brief and isolated incident involving a small group of around 30 fans who attacked a handful of stewards".

The statement continued: "The situation was quickly and efficiently brought under control. The local police are aware of the incident and investigating.

"The cause of the incident is not currently known but we are studying the security reports and available images. Uefa remains entirely committed to the safety and security of all fans and spectators at all matches of Euro 2012."

The tournament has already been beset with problems of racism, with Uefa confirming on Friday there were "isolated incidents of racist chanting" aimed at Netherlands players during an open training session.

The BBC's Panorama programme last month raised the issue of potential racism at Euro 2012 after filming supporters in Ukraine giving Nazi salutes and taunting black players with monkey noises.

Bring on 2018!!

Not suggesting anything, but James Milner is the only England player who didn't go to Schindlers factory or Auschwitz. #racist

To be fair to him, he got turned away by security at the door of the factory. Apparently he wasn't on the Schindlers list.

I said for weeks that we would be thrashed by the germans and end the group with 0 points. A shame we lost yesterday, would love to see us both in the quarter-finals, but now that's almost out of question.

Tomorrow has Spain vs Italy. I like the possibilities of that.

Italy sitting back and playing like Portugal did for the first 60 minutes or so of last nights game?

Dunno, could be dull.

Germany didn't do much differently in the first half... It was a boring game until half time.

With Balotelli and Cassano rumoured to make the starting line-up, I hope not. But in honesty, you are probably right, I just like it when 'big' footballing countries meet each other in the group stages.

Italy aren't meant to be as much of a defensive team anymore. Their back four is probably the weakest area of the team compared to the midfield and the attack and they are supposedly more attacking then defensive.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if the game is boring because I'm unsure if Italy are still as defensive as they are normally but playing against Spain who'll just look to keep the ball and probably have about 60/70% possession. I'm going with Spain 1-0 in that game.
