An extremely frustrating game. I was under the impression I was getting a full game, and instead find out I have to trade and auction things to earn the full aspect of the game. Continually crashes, and seems to have no stability. Controls are poor as they are ridiculously over sensitive.

On the positives, it does LOOK good, but then you don't marry the prettiest swine in the pigswill.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. It is in no way worth the extravagant £7 the developers request, plus potentially more from the card packs within.

I'd assume that 99.9% of companies would say "why yes that is too close, please send us money and we will let you use it."

Especially in the case of an organization like WWE which has the means to distribute a product such as this themselves.

If they were informed of this, the best case scenario for the developer would be that WWE would offer to purchase the concept from him and release it themselves with their own trademarks. Under no circumstances would they consider licensing a "knock-off" version of their stars to somebody. In fact, they likely wouldn't even look. The fact that somebody thought it similar enough to ask if it was too similar would likely be enough to have them reply "yes it is, cease and desist."

FFS, these are the same people that tried to argue in court that Scott Hall shouldn't be able to have black hair because people would think it meant he was still portraying Razor Ramon. "Jack Hagger" ain't gonna fool 'em.

As far as WWE goes, the best case scenario has already occurred as now the project can recoup on expenses before they sweep in and examine just how much of that they are owed.

Musicians are happy to have Weird Al parody their music because it will prompt Weird Al fans, who might not necessarily be their fans, to buy their music, giving them a part of the proceeds. Granted, some like Coolio value artistic integrity (or at least put up that sort of front, anyway) over the extra sales and exposure, but most are happy to have their music shopped to a different customer base (NOT audience) they might be unable to reach otherwise.

Ask kids posting self-made music videos on youtube how far they get when the "parody" isn't raking in any money.

This post baffles me, even more than the rest of this thread has. This "incredibly popular thread" has so much traffic because of what a tool you've made yourself out to be in one day, not because people want to buy your game. Hell, the closest thing to a positive word someone's said about the game is JukeboxHero saying that he likes your menus and puns, and that the game crashes. First, the only heads up we had was a post you made three months ago saying that the game was coming. Well, okay, fair enough. You were actually doing something right with the marketing, by asking a potential audience what they'd think about it. However, judging that you 'knew' that we would like it is one hundred percent bullshit. All we saw of this fucking game was nothing but pictures that were total ripoffs of current WWE and TNA talent, as well as people no longer associated with the business. Your "Developer's Blog", if you could even call it that (Oh yeah guys, Serious Parody has a blog), has a grand total of two updates, one of which started in August of this year, incidentally when you started whoring this game onto the internet, and one two months later. Wow, way to keep that fanbase informed, champ.

Second, you don't give us, the CONSUMERS, the option of a demo or a beta, and you simply say "BUY THE GAME TO SEE IF YOU LIKE IT ". Well fuck that. I will grant that there are times in life where you really don't know what you're getting; going to a new restaurant, a movie you don't know much about, however, there are other times when you do have the option of seeing what you're getting into. This is why there are such things as test drives and refunds. One of your programming contemporaries, Activision-Blizzard, realized that people might want to try something out before they commit the cash, so they give out a trial period. Adam Ryland does it. He's even letting people play Comic Book Hero, and if you want to have a fucking prayer in that game you have to pay for it.

But you...

You have no sense of the law at all, no sense of customer relations. We've had someone asking you repeatedly about a problem in the game, and yet you refused to address it all, establishing that you're just some loser wanna be programmer that's made a really shitty game that he's totally blind to, and I will say it's shitty because even your ardent defender here in the thread, JukeBoxHero, is talking about bugs.
