IV and the Strange Band are playing here in less than a month and only just now did I learn that the "IV" in question is "Hank Williams IV", Hank 3's 30 year old (!) son.

I know this is old but I rarely venture into the music folder...

This feels really weird to me. 'Punk Rock Girl' is one of my favorite tracks, it's like, perfectly light and fun, and this take is really weird. Like, the twang makes it feel very strange to me. I dunno if I like it, and it's not like I dislike punk that dips into country influence, like all my favorite G.G. stuff is like that.

Also, since punk straddling genres got brought up, I know The Clash were mentioned, but, man, Joe Strummer was a fucking musical genius and could do anything. His solo work is amazing, The Clash are amazing. I know it didn't need to be said, but any time I have a chance to sing his praises I will.

When I was a young one, I actually heard the Diesel Boy cover of this on their album Sofa King Cool and for a good 15 years thought it was their own song. One of those 'I didn't realise it was a cover' events.

I actually had a similar experience.  For the longest time, I knew The Muffs version of 'Kids In America'

Then somehow I heard the original 80s version by Kim Wilde

Kruelty (Japanese hardcore band) just surprise dropped a split EP today with Terminal Nation, called The Ruination of Imperialism. Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet.
