I looked on Roll20, the odds of getting a free game are slim to none. I've never paid for a DM, but I was getting close to considering it before finding my current group. In theory, you should have better luck and quality getting in a paid game.

Not through Roll20, but I have found a pretty solid group of people through /r/LFG_Europe (since i'm a Euro and all), it can be a hit and miss and it's definitely getting a bit lucky because the demand is so high, but i'd try it there.

Yeah I'm interested to see how they follow up. Both eXu people, both fun characters in their own way. Poor Ashley finally gets to play full time and then gets killed lol. Love Orym but I'm probably more hooked on Fearne and Laudnas stories so far.

How bad did it go? Hope the loot was worth it and you all made it out with something of worth.

Was this a custom made quest by the DM or is there a guide for it? Do hope it was fun for you all though.

It was a sorta-guide to it? I'm running Call of the Netherdeep, and there is a mission on one of the paths where the PCs are bodyguards for a casino that is expecting a robbery. They weren't on that path, and one of the PCs has a criminal element in their past, so I thought it would be a good idea to have THEM do the heist. It went well, until they walked into the casino, and saw one of their rivals who were acting as bodyguards. 3/4 wanted to abort. My wife, a chaotic evil tiefling, thought it would be better to provoke the rival until they attacked causing a huge ruckus. One of the other PCs used this distraction to carry out the rest of the plan. They scored 300gp + a hat of disguise.

I need ideas for a magical item to give to a rogue that isn't too powerful. Everyone else just recently got some cool loot (they just happened to hit a few things in Curse Of Strahd that worked perfectly for the Paladin, Druid, and Cleric), so I want to reward the rogue player with something too.

Any of the magic boots are pretty fun for a rogue - Boots of Elvenkind, Boots of Speed or Winged Boots. Gloves of Thievery are fun too.

Just turned 6th level, but they decided to multi-class into Fighter. Soulknife Rogue, so they don't really need a magic weapon. They do like doing the rogue thing and going off on their own, so maybe something that would help with that? 

Boots Of Elvenkind are a good idea. Not too strong, but very useful for the one thing the Rogue can do that no one else in the party can really do.

1. We're streaming our ongoing Traveller (sci-fi TTRPG) campaign tonight from 11pm UK time at twitch.tv/boysfromthebalticstar

 

2. We're organising a TTRPG convention in Kent next March. We're gonna have tables for Traveller, D&D, a variety of other games etc and with extra stuff over the weekend too. Tickets are going to go live in the coming days for those who want to come whatever, with more info about GMs over the coming weeks.

It's been a hot second, but I killed a character again. It was the same player of the first character I killed....on the same campaign (different story branch), on the same map, 10 feet from where they died last time. It's a cursed location for them. 

 

This time, they were fighting drow gunslingers, who have been barely able to land a hit... one gets a lucky critical and does 40 damage, killing him outright. The party gunslinger decided to take advantage of my "anime level up" rule... snorted some gunpowder, flew down. Two attacks, action surge for two more. Was basically Goku going Super Sayian after Freiza kills Krillin. It was great.

I got to be a player tonight! One of my friends is running a new game system called 'Die' based off a comic book. The background creation for the characters was just fantastic and deep. I don't feel like I've ever had a character as fleshed out. And it's all collaborative with the other players too.
