I had to turn it off and play Home Run Derby on The Show. Less star-studded, dullest Derby I can remember. Next year put in Abreu and Trout, please. No more of this zero or one or two home runs a round crap. I couldn't give two-hoots about the All-Star Game, but I've always enjoyed the Derby. But tonight was ass.

It should be the top 8 home run hitters in the majors for that season, and if one turns it down then the 9th and so on. Very simple selection process.

The Astros failed to sign #1 overall pick Brady Aiken. First time in 31 years the top pick went unsigned.

Aiken and the union are exploring legal action against the Astros. They offered him a $6.5 million signing bonus only to rescind it and offer $5 million.

Isn't there an injury issue there? I think I caught the tail end of the story, but I thought I heard Houston offered a new bonus because of some kind of injury they found.

Yeah they found he may have to have TJ surgery and adjusted their offer accordingly. Of course his agent denied it and was furious.

He started the season a little rocky, so I'm hoping it is just a similar start to the second half. Doesn't go unnoticed that his blown save cost me the victory against LD.

He can blow as many saves as he likes against the Angels in the back half of the season.

Padres send 3B Chase Headley and $1 million to the Yankees in exchange for 3B Yangervis Solarte and P Rafael De Paula.

Based on their production this year it seems like the Yankees are making a lateral at 3B, but Headley was really good 2 years ago and Solarte has started to show why he was a career minor leaguer up until this year. Decent enough experiment to try.
