Sporting defender brings down Diego Costa on his route through to goal (cynical challenge, yellow card, Chelsea freekick). Somehow he's the one who ends up bleeding...

Diego Costa, made of GRANITE. Or something.

Barcelona midfielder Xavi made has a record 143rd appearance in the Champions League when he came on as a substitute in the second half of Tuesday's Group F match at Paris St Germain. Xavi, 34, replaced Ivan Rakitic in the 69th minute at the Parc des Princes with Barca trailing 3-2, surpassing the previous record of 142 Champions League games he jointly held with former Real Madrid and Schalke 04 striker Raul.

Liverpool make two changes from the side that started Saturday's 1-1 draw with neighbours Everton. Adam Lallana drops to the bench to be replaced by Philippe Coutinho while Jose Enrique, who made his first start in 10 months when the Reds beat Middlesbrough in the League Cup, is in at left-back in place of Alberto Moreno.
Liverpool starting XI: Mignolet, Manquillo, Lovren, Skrtel, Enrique, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Markovic, Balotelli.
Alexis Sanchez returns to the Arsenal first XI in one of three changes by Arsene Wenger. Sanchez was named on the bench against Tottenham at the weekend but comes into the side, along with Mathieu Flamini and Santi Cazorla. Jack Wilshere, who took a knock to his ankle against Spurs, is on the bench, while Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta miss out as expected after picking up injuries at the weekend.
Arsenal starting XI: Szczesny, Chambers, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Flamini, Cazorla, Ozil, Sanchez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Welbeck.

Ronaldo's second penalty has Real level, while a Welbeck brace has Arsenal 2-0 up.

Half-hour into the Liverpool game, and we're starting to grow into the game a bit more. Balotelli is being far too selfish so far, and Markovic continues to have no first touch.
