Cavani should have a couple of years left in him. I don't see why it's such a bad move.

It's an obstacle in the development of Mason Greenwood, first and foremost, as well as being a player who fits approximately zero of the attributes Ole apparently wants in his players, so it's likely being done above his head, and it'll be a ridiculous amount of money for probably very little return.

It's almost Alexis Sanchez level dumb.

Pellistri is a good signing if he's anywhere near as good as he is on FM - being loaned for 6 months back to Penarol. If Telles and Sancho (or adequate alternatives) come in then the Cavani signing is a good one. If they don't, then it's a terrible signing and a distraction from areas we need to actually improve.

in hindsight, the sanchez deal didnt work, but how was it a dumb move to sign one of the best players in the league 🤣

so utd have offloaded dalot and pereira and paying at least one of those wages, its a shame jones, rojo and the rest of the donkeys have such ludicrous contracts that no one could afford to take them away too :( jones mustve made 50mil out of utd over his decade at the club and his most significant contributions are stupid faces, own goals and one good moment where he crawled quicker to the ball than giroud could run 🙄

Pretty sure we're paying Ighalo far more than Cavani is going to get, and he leaves in a few months.

Then you factor in the saved wages of Andreas and Dalot (we've got some sort of split in place with Lazio and Milan), plus Smalling, who's going to Roma, be it permanently or on loan again, so we aren't paying any extra out to have Cavani.

The problem is what others have said. There's more pressing issues at the moment, and any money could/should have been used towards Telles/Sancho instead.

Tomorrow is going to be an exciting/frustrating deadline day for us United fans.

Remember back in the Ferguson era where Man Utd had done all their summer transfer business by the end of July?

Because he didn't want to join United and only did because City wouldn't pay him 400 k a week. He was there to pick up a pay check and a pay check that destroyed our wage structure entirely. It was a terrible move at the height of our 'sign any big name and hope they arrest the decline' era.
