I actually watched the episode because of that. I felt like it - and Ezekiel, and the tiger, and the goofy accent - brought a kind of fun goofiness to the show, rather than being more po-faced misery porn.

I suppose the thing that threw me (other than who would wear that horrible t shirt) was that there wasn't the same uproar just from Negan saying it anyway whilst selecting his victim. Hasn't Eanie Meanie Minie Mo been pretty much reclaimed in the last few decades, you still hear it all the time on tv and elsewhere sans any racist connotations.

Getting Michonne that deer was more important than killing the walkers stacked up against the gate.  I had more of a problem with this than I probably should be having, considering I can understand the meaning there.  This felt like half an episode with the other half missing.

I enjoyed the episode. I knew the walkers were eating the deer but since it was such a laid back episode, I thought the writers were going to gut punch us with a walker biting Michonne while she thought that Rick was the one being eaten and then Rick shows up, seeing what he's done by not listening to her and staying out longer than she wanted to. The whole "Rick can't be happy" thing almost got me and while I'm mostly glad that it didn't happen.. I'm kind of wishing it did happen, so we can get "They're messing with the wrong people" Rick back.

There's an event tonight in Lisbon, and Greg Nicotero, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln were announced. It's being streamed in facebook here for anyone who wants to see it, although I dunno if the whole event's gonna be streamed or just the red carpet part. At least the red carpet should have begun already, as it's past the hour it was announced for, and the Q&A/conference is supposed to start at 7.30PM GMT, although with this delay, who knows when it'll begin.

 

I actually went there, but I was in line and people from the organization told us there was no more room in the theater, and I ended up coming home, because I couldn't see anything for the red carpet event, so... it really sucks, as I really wanted to be able to see it there, but hopefully they'll do this regularly.

 

And just when I was about to post this, they cut the feed and replaced it with a "We'll be back in moments" logo >_>

The part that annoyed me is that they're low on guns and ammo, but she wastes two bullets shooting at a pair of tin cans in a carny game, potentially drawing all the walkers to them at the same time and raising the attention of anyone else nearby. Like, it was a charming moment for the viewer at home, but who the fuck does that?

Other than that, good episode.

Wasn't she revealed in previous episodes to be a lousy shot? I took it as her trying to shoot a walker or two and she just happened to shoot the cans, and I thought that was why they started laughing like that, because it was so unexpected.

As soon as I saw they had 11 instead of 12, I knew they were going to shoot Benjamin and not Richard. I mean, I "get" why they did it to actually give Ezekiel the push he needed to join Rick but I wish they hadn't, I would've liked to see Benjamin grow with the group. 

Morgan snapping on Richard later with slightly unexpected in the way that he did it but I like how he turned his plan around on him.. then he goes right to Carol to ask her if she wants to know what really happened. The groundwork for all the communities to band together is coming together nicely, just waiting on the inevitable double cross from Gregory or the Scavengers.

Theories.

Eugene is Negan in the same way he was heading to DC to cure the zombie virus. IE, he's not. That being said, he doesn't like himself much right now. "I'm not good, lawful, chaotic, or neutral." Those who know their D&D know that leaves only one alignment...

Why didn't he go with the group? Simple. Reason one, self-preservation. Reason two, his leaving Sanctuary would be easily traced to Alexandria leading to inevitable retaliation. Bonus points for not being thrown facefirst into a furnace.

Sasha is dead. Negan will punish Alexandria somehow. This will push Rick to move his plans ahead.

If someone in Alexandria meets Lucille, it'll be Gabriel.

These events will be what drives Dwight to defect to Alexandria.

Gregory isn't going to attack Maggie, but someone in the Hilltop (Probably Jesus) will see him with the knife. This will lead to the Hilltop's eventual coup.

Episode 100 starts a several-episode long war arc.
