Glee

It was a very good episode but the last 30 mins seemed like they were trying to cram in the songs, Like A Prayer had the potential to be epic, and the adverts made it look like it would be but they cut it down from the studio version big time and I think it lost a bit of it's power as a result. Overall still a very good episode, can't wait for next week and the return of April!

Six minutes in and I have a new custom title. This episode is promising thusfar.

EDIT: Kurt/Finn storyline was great. Mercedes storyline was good, if overwrought. April storyline should have happened in a week where it wouldn't feel unneeded and shoehorned in.

I just got around to watching this week's episode and it was my favorite since before Sectionals. While the first couple after the break fell short to me, this was finally the type of show I was expecting from Glee. I think that my interest in the show is inversely proportional to the emphasis they put on Will's love life. Whenever he's the focus, I find myself bored beyond belief. Any time they decide to bring Chenoweth on the show is awesome, but I can't help but think that she would have been the better choice to be Will's wife/current love interest since I just don't care at all about Will/Emma and I didn't care at all about Will/Terri.

Is this the first episode where Rachel didn't sing lead at all?

April definitely would have been a much better character to fill the Will's wife role. It's unfortunate that didn't happen.

Also not only did Rachel not sing lead, but I think she had a grand total of maybe two lines in the entire episode. It was a refreshing change of pace, as much as I enjoy Jesse St. James' musical theatre douchebaggery.

It was three. I started counting after a while. And as I told my friend, it's nice to have the focus be on other characters, and we can just assume she and Jesse are doing fine so they don't need any screentime right now.

Might've been three sentences now that I think about it though. Nonetheless, good episode. As for Will's love interests, I don't have a problem with them, but I do find the show to be much worse when the focus of the episode is Will himself. Bring on five minutes of Will/Emma per episode and I'll be fine.

I agree. I actually like Will/Emma as long as it's kept to subplots. Though I prefer Emma when she's awkwardly failing to relate to teenagers.

Anyone been watching this lately?

Despite going into last nights episode scared shitless of a Lady Gaga song being done, I really loved the episode. Lately it seems that the episodes are focusing a lot more on the other characters, rather than being 'Glee: The Finn and Rachel Power Hour'. It's a great change of pace and I hope they keep it up.

Last nights episode just had some great moments, with Puck and the guys singing Beth and the scene with Finn calling the things in the room 'faggy' and Kurt's father just verbally beating him down. Scenes like that are part of why I love this show. The show usually has some great song covers/choices, it's fun and campy and quirky and silly, and when a serious/emotional scene is needed they come off as really, really good.

And I didn't actually mind the Lady Gaga songs that were sung in the episode either <_<

Pokerface was the creepiest song Glee has ever done. Did you see Older Rachel's eyes when she was watching Rachel Rachel sing that song? SHE WAS MAKING SEXY EYES AT HER DAUGHTER WHILE SAID DAUGHTER SANG A SEXY SONG. The song itself was good, but BAD CONTEXT, BAD CONTEXT.

Other than that, I quite liked the episode, especially seeing the interaction between Kurt's dad and Finn.

Kurt and his dad are the best part of the show, sometimes they beat us over the head with it, but no other show on TV portrays a gay teenage boy and his father like that.

I've yet to see that episode, but the fact that said song is about having sex with a guy whilst imagining you're having sex with a girl makes it even more creepy

I think that the Pokerface bit was about Rachel's mom keeping a straight face as compared to Rachel, much like Mr Schuh said, she (Rachel) isn't as strong, but still, yeah... creepy.... and sexy :pervert:

Rich knows that Mom and Daughter at the same time is a sexy thought when it's not anyone related to you in any way.

But porn shows you the edited highlights, the bits I care about, I only care about the emotional damage later on when i can take advantage of it and use their insecurities against the ladies for my own gains. (H)

My issue with the Pokerface scene was the fact that it's Rachel's dream to sing with her mom, and it turns out her mom is this amazing singer just like her, they're both fans of broadway shows, and the song Rachel picks to fulfill this lifelong dream is fucking Lady Gaga? Really?
