probablyoliver
I've gone back to 160, figure that'll give me enough to catch up with. Is it still the case that I can pretty much just watch the main PPV's and ignore all pre-lims and TV and other such and not be completely lost as to what's happening? Benjamin
If you have access to Bellator MMA (the current number two MMA promotion in North America), it has it's biggest show up Saturday night for USA folks (so should be Sunday morning for UK?), with three title fights. It's on Spike (or wherever they show it in the UK). This is the fight card for it: http://www.bellator.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=23600&ATCLID=209113902 The Lightweight title fight has two of the top ten Lightweights in the world, and is rematch from a Fight Of The Year 2011 candidate. The Light Heavyweight title has a former Strikeforce champ (the former number number two MMA promotion in North America until it folded earlier this year) and a former MFC champ (the Canadian promotion). It's also a rematch, from when Newton spinning-back fisted Lawal into Lalaland. The last title fight is also a rematch, and the current champ is arguably a top ten Featherweight. The challenger is, um, well he was arrested earlier this year, so yay. If you want just strictly UFC, UFC 166 happened a couple of weeks ago and many call it the best fight card in UFC history. Can't find a link with the card without spoilers, though. It's really a fantastic place to start, as every fight was entertaining and balls-to-the-wall action. The main event of that card was a rubber match between the two top heavyweights in the world, with both of them splitting the first two fights. Co-mains was Roy Nelson versus a former two-time undefeated Olympian and Gilbert Melendez (former Strikeforce LW champ) and Diego Sanchez. The prelims were amazing as well, a bunch of finishes. Gazz's suggestion of UFC 165 is okay, too, two great title fights and the undercard was entertaining as well. EDIT: To Ollie's last question, yeah, watching the main cards are fine. You'd be missing out on some great fights, though. Also, you totally should watch Bellator tonight (or tomorrow morning, whichever it is). Noah
From 2011, I remember enjoying, UFC Live: Kongo vs. Barry. That could be due to the finish to the main event.
Benjamin
Actually, just watch any PPV with Jon Jones on it. He's the future of the company, and from 2011 onwards: UFC 126 UFC 128 UFC 135 UFC 140 UFC 145 UFC 152 UFC 159 UFC 165 It's the most compelling story in MMA today. EddieG
You can also follow the top 2 contenders at 205, Gustaffson and Teixeira on their way up. Flyweight fights are fun as hell, most of the time. EDIT: And yes, that Kongo vs Barry fight was great.

Benjamin
Yeah, around October time, like the Manchester card a couple of weeks ago. I meant London, not the whole country. And I'm wrong anyway, they only did it this year and next.
