The specs actually aren't that high, I can run New Vegas on Maximum on my 5 year old PC, so I assume I could run Skyrim too. Installing mods to allow for SuperHD textures and window light reflection and better textured water would slow it down to a crawl though, but it would look GLORIOUS.

It does, it is insane how good it looks. It's like when a new console comes out and there is a version for the new and the old.

You don't understand how dated my laptop and desktop both are. Skyrim came out a year too early for me. I'm getting a new computer very soon.

Wrong way of looking at it. The best way of looking at it is "Hey, a Bethesda game was released a year before I upgrade my PC! By the time I'm rocking my new rig, they'll have modded it to be actually good!"

I've racked up almost 80 hours and I'm only level 22.

Not even sure what I've been doing most of the time, exploring is too much fun >_>

Reviews of dlc were not kind so far

They've all said something similar. It's not as big as Shivering Isles, it could do a lot more, but it's fun for the time you pour into it.

But surely there's going to be another DLC down the line? A bigger, more expansive one.

Try playing in 3rd person instead of 1st, I had the same problem until I switched to 3rd person.

Got bored doing one waypoint at a time, so I turned them all on. More fun, but keeping track of stories is much harder
