Your football shirt collection

Recommended Posts

Posting in the kits thread have me this idea - which football shirts do you own? If you're like me, you'll wear anything that isn't a direct rival to your club, so I have LOADS hung up.

I'll see how this thread goes before posting mine - one rule: you must still actually own the shirt.

Take pictures of them yourself or just do what I'll probably do and just look in my cupboard, then use pictures from google. Oh, and you might wanna spoiler your post if the collection is large - having just the odd shirt is fine too, just post whatever!

None.

I have sex with girls.

You lying bastard. You do not.

I have a bunch of Villa shirts from varying seasons. An England one I gave to Ruth to sleep in. And a Croatia away shirt that I now love. I want Valencia's home but don't wanna spend 35 quid on it, and I'm gonna get a Fiorentina home shirt soon. Gonna start picking more up, playing football weekly gives me a good excuse to do so.

Pretty much every England shirt from the last 10 years, a Brazil shirt from just after World Cup 2002, a couple of United shirts from the last few seasons and a random Lazio shirt I bought because I liked the look of it.

Numerous Spurs shirts.

The current England away shirt which is my favourite England shirt since '66.

An old Croatia home shirt.

Nagoya Grampus' home shirt from a few years ago (but need to get this season's).

Also have a really old Mexican club shirt from years ago when my dad went over - Club Leon, who used to be successful but have been in the second tier for nearly 10 years now.

Let's see WHICH Spurs shirts....

I have a legit SPONSORLESS shirt from this season:

spurs-home-puma-10-11-leaked-2.jpg

They shipped them out to Japan (and no doubt other countries) before the final sponsors were chosen.

I also have last year's (which grew on me), 2008/09, 2007/08, 2006/07, 2004/05, 2002-04.

The earliest two kits were the skintight Kappas. I LOVED them, but then was only like 22-25 years old at the time so was effortlessly buff. I've actually been a fan of the Puma kits but then I do like Puma stuff generally. 2008/09 was the only sucky one because the material wasn't so nice, kind of scratchy in fact.

Oh I've also got the best Japan one too:

With Nakata 7 on the back (he retired after that World Cup).

I'm frankly ridiculous. Bearing in mind I'm not the stereotypical wearing Newcastle shirts round the city centre every day type of fan (I'm a civil servant divvent ya knar) I've got more than I know what to do with. Toon shirts get worn to the match, everything else is gym and footie wear so far too much:

Quick glance at historicalkits.co.uk confirm I've got 15 Newcastle shirts in circulation (95 away, 97 home, 99 home, 2003 home, 2005 home and third, 2006 away, 2007 home and third, 2008 third, 2009 home and away (yellow!), 2010 home, away and third (los tres amigos on the back). Picked up the 95 hoopy one fairly recently, anything pre 97 doesn't fit my girth these days.

Plus:

Spain 98-99 (its a classic)

Barca 98 (ditto), 2006 and 2008 away

Deportivo 96-98 (present from my Dad who was working there, bought me an XL so its still too ruddy big)

England away 99

England home 2005 (red cross on shoulder, probably my favourite England top I've had) and 2007

The current away one (South Africa wording, bought for peanuts after the World Cup)

Holland away 2006 and 2008 (both ace)

Kaizer Chiefs 2005 home (why not...)

Africa Unity third shirt thingy 2010

AC Milan 2005 (Maldini on the back, my hero)

Inter away 2007

Juventus home 2009

Russia away 2004 and China away 2004 (god knows, must have been cheap somewhere)

I've no doubt missed something, but as you can probably see I've got wardrobe issues. Its stupid since I don't wear them often, but a nice footie shirt always appeals to me.

I have a Fulham top from like...2007. And an England top. Probably from around the same time.

I used to have both the blue away Newcastle kit and their random burgundy striped one.

I would buy more, but just don't have the money for it.

Loads of Spurs kits (included 98/99 Pony kit autographed - Chris Armstrong was my neighbour!)

Current England away + previous England home

Bought the Palermo home for my girlfriend

Various autographed kits won in auctions (one Postiga Spurs shirt worn in an North London derby, West Ham circa 2000, Newcastle circa 95/96/97, Fulham before they changed their badge and became an top tier club, plus an England Rugby 2003 Grand Slam kit)

Kaizer Chiefs

Plus I need to add kits for my other teams, Watford and Bournemouth.

I would feel weird wearing a football shirt for a team I didn't support. Like say I wore a Roma shirt, someone would invariably ask me "do you support Roma?" and I'd say "no" and they'd think I was a nutbar. :shifty:

Hence, a number of Chelsea shirts and one England (2002) one.

I have/had owned these:

I still have the green away jersey and obviously the recent silver one. They happen to be the only two that fit me, but I very rarely wear either of them.

I own far too much, they're basically all I wear during the day when going to college. In fact I've got the latest Real Madrid home shirt with Özil 23 on the back. I'll list my Newcastle and other English ones first and I'll have to have a look around later to see which other ones I own. It's literally too many to list, people always get me one as a present when going abroad so I've got some weird ones.

Newcastle Home

1995-1997

1999-2000

2000-2001: Robert 32

2001-2003

2003-2005

2005-2007

2007-2009: Tayor 27

2009-2010

2010-2011: Carroll 9

Newcastle Away

1999-2000: Dyer 7

2002-2003: Bellamy 10

2005-2006: Owen 10

2006-2007

2007-2008

2008-2009: Jonas 18

2009-2010: Carroll 24

Arsenal Home 2005: Fabregas 4

Arsenal Away 2010

Chelsea Home 2008

Chelsea Away 2005

Everton Home 2008: Arteta 10

Everton Away 2009

Leeds Away 2003: Smith 17

Leeds Home 2004

Leeds Away 2004: Healy 9

Leeds Home 2006

Leeds Away 2009

Man City Home 2009: Robinho 10

Man Utd Away 2010: Evra 3

Obviously most of them don't fit me as I've grown up in the process having gotten my first shirt aged 4 in 1996. My favourite one is probably the 2002 away one, lovely colour scheme and the least favourit is definitely the purple abomination from 2006.
