I was just thinking the other day that there wasn't a new game.

...so, a new submission system? Again?

I will possibly get it, but not right away. Last year was such a pain in the ass (career mode was a joke, the online was laggy as fuck, and the team camps? Couldn;t even use them)

Sounds a lot like EAMMA influencing them.

Interested, but I hope to fuck that they allow custom entrance music.

I want triple threat matches. Do that and I'm buying it.

No triple threat matches, but barbed wire and ladder matches being added in.

2009 was a great game, some of the stuff they added for 2010 was good but others just ruined it. Hopefully they'll have looked at EA MMA which I thought was a good game and just used some of the stuff they've done and well sort out the stuff they ruined.

2009's success was its downfall really they thought they could dish out a yearly franchise and you can't do that until you've gotten the game to a good standard. Not going to say I won't get it cause its way too early to tell hopefully over the next couple of months more details will come out and a demo before the game is released.

For the arm and leg submissions, you tapped buttons to fill the meter or stop your opponent from filling the meter. You couldn't just mash buttons though, because you would run out of stamina and be reversed if you did.

Choking people out was kind of like the struggle submissions in SvR in that there was a 'sweet spot' to find.

I hope we get Strikeforce guys at least as DLC. If only because I'd get infinite amusement out of murdering BJ Penn as Shinya Aoki.

Also, I hope THQ gives us Roy Nelson body types for edited fighters.

I do wonder what this means for Strikeforce fighters, since I assume EA MMA 2 won't be happening. Maybe just the biggest of the big will appear in the game? I mean, an upcoming PPV has a superfight between Diaz and GSP, I wouldn't be surprised if people like Fedor, Overeem, etc. are in.

Then again, I wouldn't exactly be surprised if they weren't, either. Dana obviously bought them to limit the success of a EA sequel :shifty:

If Dana White has any say, Fedor will be the Glass Joe of Undisputed 3.

Thought I'd revive this with the game about a month and a half away (due in Febuary).

Submission system in there, I'll wait till I play it to judge it I guess.

Great additions here, soccer kicks and stomps? (Y)

As usual, really looking forward to this. I didn't have a problem with '10 like some seemed to (though didn't get as much play time out of it as '09). Apparently spamming this time around is a much harder too, so online may be better, rather than some just spamming attack nonstop.

New THQ servers for online play

Pride Mode, with Pride rules, ring, and fighters. Commentary will be provided by Bas Rutten and Stephen Quadros. Lenne Hardt will announce the fighters in Pride.

A brand new submission system.

Mo-capping used for fighters giving more realistic movement and striking.(This doesn't apply for all fighters. Some will still use archetypes.)

New Stats: Footwork, Ground Grapple Top and Bottom for offense and defense.

Fighter entrances.

Two gameplay control options: traditional and simplified. (Pro and Amateur controls)

Additions of Featherweight and Bantamweight division.

Roster fighters from the UFC and Pride can now be taken through career mode.

Auto-Block removed.

Punching your way out of clinches.

New ground positions with the cage.

Using the cage to set-up submissions.

Using the cage to “wall walk” back to a standing position.

New options, such as Stamina Simulation mode, Competition Spec mode (Removes all random elements such as flash KOs and doctor stoppages), and Stat Equalizer (Equalizes all stats to 80 for both fighters).

Reach is now a big part in striking.

Fighters are now able to sway on the ground to avoid strikes.

A new feint system.

Takedown-intercepting knees have been added.

"Finish the Fight" allows you to continue striking until the ref pulls you off.
