Bobfoc
Great finish. England looked well below par, though, just like they did against Scotland. Ill discipline, which was a hallmark of the Stuart Lancaster era, has crept back in.
Admin Lineker Posted August 15, 2018 Admin Report Share Posted August 15, 2018 Danny Cipriani charged with assault after an incident at a Jersey nightclub. I blame @Skummy.
Bobfoc
What an idiot. He's spent years getting himself back into the England setup, only to reveal that he's learned nothing from his past incidents.
Noah
David Fifita scored his first try in the NRL(top grade Aussie Rugby League) last night, becoming the first player born in the 2000's to do so. I'll be over here, in the corner, feeling old.
Matt
I'm surprised it's taken this long. I think you can play from being 16, albeit that's rare, so basically it's taken nearly 3 years for someone to do that. Unless super league and NRL have different rules on age limits
Noah
I tried to find definitive rules on that but all google showed me were old articles and forum links to discussions on raising the debut age to 18. I did find that the player in question is also the only player born in the 2000's currently playing top grade rugby league in Australia. Only 6 18 year olds in total as well and obviously nobody younger.
The Lusophone
Former F1 owners CVC Capital Partners bid of £275 million for 51% of Premiership Rugby looks set to fail after Bath's owner Bruce Craig indicated he opposed the deal. Any deal requires unanimous approval from the 12 Premiership clubs and the Championship's London Irish.
Admin Lineker Posted September 11, 2018 Admin Report Share Posted September 11, 2018 Think I read somewhere that only Exeter made a profit last year? Something needs to change.

Pretty much. I think they might be the only team making year-on-year profit as well. Player wage inflation is the main reason, as clubs try to compete with both the southern hemisphere and French leagues. Local bias aside, I genuinely believe Exeter Chiefs might actually be the best run sports franchise in the country.
Bobfoc
England are behind against Japan. Yes, it's very much a second-string England, but still, this could be huge.
Cymbols
Welsh game was all kinds of fun. Couple of really nice tries scored too. It's a very strange feeling for us mind, not used to having so much depth, particularly in the backs and at 10. Some real selection headaches ahead of the next one. Bobfoc
And now Ireland have beaten New Zealand. World rugby is looking very exciting right now.
TCO
Beat them well too, an unbelievable performance! That's after beating them in Chicago two years ago too! Between this and the Grand Slam this year, we could be considered the best team in the world. It's a weird feeling that! Bet we get knocked out in the quarters again at the World Cup. 😒

Lowerdeck
I'm at a holiday party and there's a guy here from England (Reading). We're watching Leinster and Bath. He's excited to see it on TV here in America, and explaining the game to us. Can see some similarity to American football. Leinster is running away in this game.
Cymbols
Leinster are quality, arguably the best team in Europe. Embarrassingly, their second/third strength team put nine tries on one of the Welsh teams the other week, which was not pretty. The Dragons had what was pretty much a full strength team, too. I'm sure I've asked in the NFL thread but why don't they play more lateral passes in Yankball? Plenty of quick wingers why not just play a few sideways passes? The Lusophone
God the crying online about Exeter Chiefs being 'boring' is too much. Probably just pissed Chiefs are successful and financially secure.

My guess would be that because forward passes and lead blockers are allowed, it stretches the field out enough so teams don't feel the need to lateral much. That and there's (usually) a bigger amount of space between players eligible to carry the ball.
