Bigger for us than any signing we could make this window.

West Brom are close to sealing the loan signing of Sandro from QPR but have been dealt a blow with the news that Callum McManaman has been ruled out for six weeks. Midfielder Sandro is having a medical with the Baggies ahead of a move until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent transfer. The switch will bolster the Baggies’ midfield after McManaman was sidelined with an ankle injury which is likely to keep him out until March.

Arsène Wenger is confident that Arsenal will complete the signings of the Nigeria youth internationals Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze before the transfer deadline on Monday. But the manager suggested he would make no senior additions to supplement the purchase of Mohamed Elneny as the club’s injury situation had improved significantly. Wenger goes into Saturday’s FA Cup tie at home to Burnley with only Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere as long-term casualties. Francis Coquelin is back in contention weeks ahead of schedule after a knee problem and Tomas Rosicky also back from knee trouble. Danny Welbeck has returned to full training, having been out since April of last year with a knee injury, but he will need a few more weeks before he is competitive again. Nwakali, an attacking midfielder, was the player of the Under-17 World Cup in Chile last year, which Nigeria won, and at which his team-mate Chukwueze, a winger, also impressed. They are part of the Diamond Football Academy in Nigeria.

Shakhtar Donetsk have warned Liverpool and Chelsea they will not sell Alex Teixeira for less than his €70m (£53m) release clause. Jürgen Klopp’s side had a £24.6m bid for the Brazil international rejected last week and are expected to return with a new offer in the coming days, with Chelsea also believed to be interested in the 26-year-old. However, the Ukrainian club’s general director, Sergiy Palkin, insisted on Friday that would only be willing to accept a vastly increased offer and requested any clubs who can afford his buyout clause to “declare themselves”.

Sunderland are set to complete the signing of the Bordeaux midfielder Wahbi Khazri after agreeing a deal with the French Ligue 1 club. A statement on Bordeaux’s official website confirmed the departure of the player. Reports in France claim he has signed a four-and-a-half year deal with the Premier League side for what Sky Sports reported was a £9m fee.

Sky Italia are reporting that Leicester have offered £12.2million for AC Milan forward M’Baye Niang. The 21-year-old French forward has played eight league games for Milan this term, scoring twice. However, their bid to sign Eder is over after Inter Milan confirmed the signing of the in-form striker from Sampdoria. Eder has left Sampdoria on an initial two-year loan deal, although the 29-year-old has agreed to remain at San Siro until at least 2020 if the switch proves successful.

Sky sources claim Leicester are also in talks with CSKA Moscow for Nigerian striker Ahmed Musa, but there could be competition from Manchester United. There's no agreement yet on a fee, with CSKA asking for £18million.

Leicester’s attempt to reinforce their squad before the end of the January transfer window have been dealt a blow after Milan rejected an offer of €16m (£12.1m) M’Baye Niang and insisted he is not for sale. That was quick.

Blackburn have signed forward Tony Watt from Charlton Athletic. The 22-year-old joins on loan until the end of the season with a fee agreed for a permanent move in the summer.

Such glaring inconsistencies. Shoddy journalism.

Sky Sources understand Newcastle are on the verge of agreeing to take Atletico Madrid left-back Guilherme Siqueira on loan until the summer. Siqueira, 29, has made seven appearances for Atletico this season under Diego Simeone.

Sky Sources also understand Newcastle have made an enquiry about the possibility of taking Roma striker Seydou Doumbia on loan until the summer. The 28-year-old Ivorian scored 11 goals in 21 appearances for the Russian side last season.

Can't say I've seen Siqueira but he's a left back who's not Paul Dummett, so that's a huge plus.

Doumbia has tailed off recently but it's still exciting, he's lightning quick and can finish, seemingly the opposite of Mitrovic thus far!

Sky sources understand everything has been agreed between QPR midfielder Sandro and West Bromwich Albion, but the Premier League club will complete the final part of his medical tomorrow. He will be at the Hawthorns on Saturday to watch the FA Cup fourth round clash against Peterborough.

Rangers have allowed Fraser Aird to join Vancouver Whitecaps on-loan for the forthcoming MLS season. The young Canadian will join up with his compatriots for pre-season training in Arizona next week before competing in the entire campaign which runs from March until at least October.
