Watching Lester trying to field is hilarious.  I really don't understand how a pitcher is fully incapable of fielding, to the degree where he doesn't even try most of the time.  That play in the 5th would have been an easy out at third for any other lefty pitcher in baseball - and I've seen him just full on throw his glove to Rizzo in the past instead of attempting to make a throw.

Good thing he's a hell of a pitcher and can otherwise work around most baserunners.

It's really weird, yeah. I think they said in one of the games he started that he's so not confident in his fielding that that's a big reason why he rarely - if ever - fields anything. That's still weird, though, how do you have a ten year major league career and not get any better at fielding? Or any more confident about it?
