Manchester City are set to sign their second right-back in a week with Real Madrid’s Danilo on the verge of following in Kyle Walker’s footsteps and joining Pep Guardiola’s side. City have reached an agreement with Real to sign the 26-year-old for €30m (£26.5m) with a potential €5m in add-ons.

The signing would mean City have spent £76.5m on the two right-backs, with Walker costing an initial £50m. Guardiola was always likely to target the full-back positions after releasing Gaël Clichy, Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna at the end of last season.

Guardiola and City had reached an agreement in principle to sign Dani Alves after he left Juventus but the former Barcelona player opted to join Paris St-Germain. The French club had offered the Brazilian almost twice as much in wages.

Guardiola has added Monaco’s attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva (£43.6m) and the Benfica goalkeeper Ederson (£34.9m) to his squad and is keen to sign Pepe Reina from Napoli but the Italian club want to keep the former Liverpool No1 and have offered him an improved contract.

Danilo joined Real Madrid from Porto in 2015 and has 15 caps for Brazil, having made his international debut in 2011.

Tbh I think Morata going Chelsea and Lukaku to United works out well for both teams. I reckon Morata would have a bigger impact at Chelsea then  he would at United.

Aston Villa have also confirmed the signing of Ahmed Elmohamady from Hull City.

Brighton have made their fifth summer signing, bringing in Mathias Normann for an undisclosed fee from Norwegian second division side FK Bodo/Glimt. The 21-year-old midfielder has agreed a three-year contract with the Premier League newcomers.

Carlos de Pena has left Middlesbrough by mutual consent after his contract was terminated.

Sky sources understand Bournemouth have rejected a loan bid from Toulouse for winger Max Gradel.

Marco Silvestri has completed a permanent transfer from Leeds to Italian Serie A side Verona for an undisclosed fee.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone has completed his switch from Sunderland to Reading.

Sky sources understand Oxford are close to agreeing a contract with former Newcastle defender Mike Williamson, who has been on trial at the club.

Sky sources understand Stoke and Manchester City remain in talks over a deal for Fabian Delph. It is understood that Stoke want to pay closer to £10m for the midfielder – but City are holding out for around £13m.

Sky sources: Reading have agreed a deal in the region of £1.25m to sign Modou Barrow from Swansea. The 24-year-old winger is now understood to be discussing personal terms over a permanent move to the Sky Bet Championship side.

Juventus have completed the signing of Italy full-back Mattia De Sciglio from AC Milan. The Serie A champions, who last week sold their long-serving centre-back Leonardo Bonucci to the ambitious Rossoneri, have secured De Sciglio's services on a five-year contract.

Diego Rolan could make Fulham wait until the last days of the transfer window to sign him as he holds out for a move to the Premier League or Spain. Sky Sports News understands the striker is still unsure about joining the Whites despite visiting their Motspur Park training ground twice. Sky sources reported last week that Fulham had agreed a £5m deal with Bordeaux to sign the 24-year-old but talks with the player have so far proven unsuccessful. No serious offer has yet emerged for Rolan from the top flight but reports in the northeast have claimed Newcastle are interested.

AC Milan in talks to sign Andrea Belotti from Torino after missing out on Alvaro Morata and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Belotti has an £88m release clause in his contract, but this is only for foreign clubs. We are told Belotti wants to move to Milan. Milan are offering Torino £35m plus two players - forward M’Baye Niang and defender Gabriel Paletta. Torino are asking for £53m plus three players – Niang, Paletta and midfielder Manuel Locatelli. Belotti scored 28 times last season and he was on a shortlist of strikers looked by Chelsea and Manchester United this summer.

Monaco have threatened to report “important European clubs” to Fifa for making illegal approaches for their teenage striker Kylian Mbappé.

The 18-year-old is wanted by several clubs and Monaco, who do not want to sell a player whose goals contributed to them reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League last season, responded on Thursday by releasing a statement.

“AS Monaco regretfully notice that ‘important’ European football clubs made contacts with Kylian Mbappé (and his entourage) without its authorization,” it read.

“AS Monaco want to remind these clubs that such actions are contrary to the article 211 of the Administrative regulation of the French Football League (Ligue de Football Professionnel) and to the article 18.3 of the Regulation of the Status and the Transfer of the Players of Fifa.

“To put an end to this unacceptable situation, AS Monaco consider asking the French Football League and the Fifa to commit disciplinary procedures against clubs offenders.”

Monaco have already sold Bernardo Silva to Manchester City and Tiemoué Bakayoko to Chelsea this summer.

Tottenham will not be signing Estudiantes defender Juan Foyth after Mauricio Pochettino decided not to pursue the deal at the price that was being quoted.

Estudiantes value the 19-year-old defender at more than £8m, even though he has only made eight first-team appearances.

PSG, Inter Milan and Roma are also interested in Foyth.

Grrr.

West Ham have agreed a deal in principle to sign Javier Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen, according to Sky sources.

This upsets me. Jose spoke last season of how Chich would have 20 goals for us if he'd had the chances our current forwards had missed - and now he's off to West Ham on the cheap. :/
