A lot of those City signings though have been when there has been a lot more money in the Prem or they've purchased from teams that they are competing with aka Tottenham or teams where the player was highly rated aka Everton.

I don't think you can really compare them to say United signing Smalling from Fulham years ago or Jones from Blackburn.

Big teams don't need to make calculated smaller buys as a result of good scouting anymore. They let your midtable teams do that and then spunk £40-50mil on the ones that work out in the league. Those teams reinvest that money and the cycle begins again. The same clubs peddle their loan farms as and world class facilities as some sort of revolution as if they make any difference to their success.

Only now they have the lovely addition of buy back clauses for all the youth they acquired but don't have the means to actually develop due to the above process taking up all the spots. You know, just in case smaller clubs have the audacity to succeed.

Meanwhile lads from all over the globe slag each other off on twitter about their "clubs" in broken English, despite not being able to point Manchester or London out on a map. They're decked out in the latest kit in their profile photos though.

Its all good though because the club signed a official middle east shoelace partner while on its latest friendly tour. So rest assured as they can snatch any decent players that may be emerging in Europe for their latest marketing campaign or loan farm.

Football at the top level is shit now and its completely lost touch with itself as a sport.

Manchester United have signed goalkeeper Theo Richardson.

The 18-year-old joined the club on trial earlier this year and impressed for the Under-18s as well as being named on the bench for the U23s' penultimate game of the season.

United have not announced the signing, but Richardson now has a profile on the club website, which reads: "Signed on a permanent contract after arriving on a short-term basis towards the end of the 2016/17 season.

"Formerly with Leeds United, he produced some outstanding performances when thrust into the Reds' Under-18 team to earn a deal over the course of the summer."

Some potentially big news from Spain as Marca are reporting Real Madrid and Monaco have reached a €180 million agreement for the transfer of Kylian Mbappe.

It is reported that the deal will either be €150m/€160m and then €30m/€20m of add-ons. Mbappe, 18, will sign a six-year deal with the La Liga champions.
