  1. Portal 2 is fairly critically acclaimed right? I'm tempted to get that, Cities: Skylines, and Tropico 5. I did the normal thing and bought about 10 games during the November sale, and have since only played three of them. One of those was Portal though and I thought it was pretty fun. EDIT - Add EUIV, FM18, and TES Online to that list of temptations.
  2. Find a rulebook which doesn't explicitly use the word 'deliberate' and I'll accept your point. The referee's decision is clearly final in a live game but that doesn't stop it from being the wrong call. It's a little convoluted if they draw but Argentina not beating Croatia tonight could see them not even make it to the second round. A draw tonight and Iceland beating Nigeria would mean Argentina have to beat Nigeria to stand a chance of progressing, and a Croatia/Iceland draw would bring it down to goal difference, meaning Argentina would have to score more against Nigeria than Iceland do tomorrow to avoid it being decided on discipline. Croatia and Iceland both winning would obviously be even worse for Argentina, but not impossible.
  3. All of those decisions are clearly wrong too. Pretty simple.
  4. I totally disagree. A handball is an intentional use of the arm to interfere with play, as happened in the Colombia/Japan game. This was an unavoidable and in the moment deflection while the player was already in the air challenging for the ball.
  5. I don't understand why that was a penalty (or card worthy). It clearly wasn't intentional.
  6. Next season might as well be a write off already really. Arsenal and Liverpool have both made several great signings, City and Spurs don't even need to change their current formulas, and Man Utd haven't spent a month waiting for the dust to settle from last season. Focusing on the Europa League seems like the best way of achieving Champions League qualification for next season because even finishing 5th seems like a stretch at the moment.
  7. A couple of goals for Costa would be nice to keep the Golden Boot competitive. I wouldn't be surprised if Kane keeps up with one or two against Panama either.
  8. I hope they start booking petulant claims which are very clearly disproven by the VAR. Things like the Japan keeper claiming that the ball hadn't crossed the line yesterday and Ronaldo's dive after that free kick are just so pointless and unnecessary.
  9. It took me 15mins to realise that Portugal were playing in white because I missed Ronaldo's goal and Morocco have been attacking fairly well.
  10. Missed the goal because iPlayer froze. Sort it out, @Switzerlineker!
  11. Plus the winner of that match would possibly face the Group G winner in the quarter finals, meaning England would be better off finishing 2nd. The perfect excuse, lads.
  12. Well I'm out of the sweepstake next door. Apparently they made a logistical error and forgot someone who had to be included. They brought my quid back, took Egypt back, and told my colleague we'd have to share Germany. He kicked up a fuss and said he'd sooner quit the sweepstake too, because it's a bit silly telling someone who's already drawn a sweepstake that they can't have it any more, but I negotiated a decent deal; if Germany win the sweepstake runner owes me a drink and, should Egypt somehow go all the way, she owes me two. My colleague has also offered to buy me a drink if Germany win because he'd be winning the £32 prize on the pound I lent him and then forgave as payment for the office milk he'd just bought.
  13. Love Mourinho's reaction at the end of the video.
  14. I agree. 16 groups of 3 where only the bottom placed nation is eliminated makes the whole first round seem pointless. I'd much rather an expanded group stage of 5 teams per group where only the top 2 still go through.
  15. I have little recollection of Jiri Jarosik, but would never have said he played for Chelsea if I were asked to name an English club he played for, and have absolutely no idea who Tiago is. This is despite being a Chelsea fan from 2002 onwards.
  16. The two of us in the office that wanted to do a sweepstake just joined in the music college one next door. I drew Egypt... my colleague drew Germany. I suppose I can cheer for Salah while he isn't wearing all red.
  17. Just discovered that the entire run of The 11 O'Clock Show is available on Youtube. That's my Friday nights in sorted for the summer.
  18. There wasn't enough interest in the office for us to do a sweepstake
  19. Less Than Jake/Reel Big Fish co-headlining UK tour just got announced and I'm all over that. 100% down for the Norwich date but I'm also contemplating as many as 6 other dates just because I can combine them with visiting people (and hopefully scrounging a sofa for the night ).
  20. My (out there) first choice would be Deschamps. Unfortunately, he obviously wouldn't be leaving France until they're out of the World Cup, which could be as late as the final, and it'll be too late by then in my opinion. Ideally you want whoever will be manager for next season in place before the start of the World Cup so they can observe it knowing what resources they have available to them over the summer to rebuild the squad in their style. The first game being in 12 days worries me that this won't be the case as I still doubt that Conte will be around come August.
  21. It's to make Defoe feel more comfortable.
  22. Well yeah, if he lived in Manchester he'd be a City fan.
  23. I just want a film starring Temeura Morrison. Post-Sarlacc Boba Fett or aging clonetrooper/s, I'm not fussy.
  24. So it turns out that the company who developed Fortnite have a similar name to where I work and I just took a call from some kid about it. Apparently that wasn't the first time it's happened as my manager took a call last week from an angry guy demanding his money back after his girlfriend spent his credits.
