Every newspaper continues to drop in circulation. Unfortunately, The Sun is still the most widely read newspaper in the country despite at a glance having the largest percentage decline of the last decade. But the kind of rhetoric they continue to peddle is exactly the fuel which, in 2012, led my friend's dad to label Danny Welbeck as a "useless monkey cunt" after England got knocked out of the Euros by Italy. That rhetoric also isn't declining with the death of print media; instead it can be found on Facebook alongside the posts defending people like Tommy Robinson despite him breaking the law, because the damage has already been done and now all they need to do is fan the flames with garbage like this.

Currently watching the first episode of the CGI Clone Wars series. It's still part of the canon, right? I watched the CGI film a few months back in preparation but never quite got round to the series until now. I'm guessing the earlier series isn't considered canon if the more recent one is, because I'd imagine they present conflicting ideas, but I might watch both if they seem entertaining enough.

Oooh yes and they've got a Norwich date on the tour too so that's added to my list right away. I'm now tempted to split the time I would've spent seeing them at Slam Dunk between Twin Atlantic and Capdown.

I say good riddance if we can get his £60m pricetag back. At the start of last season I was optimistic about Morata, although I'd have much preferred Aubameyang, because a replacement for Diego Costa was clearly needed. As it stands a new, consistent goalscoring striker is still needed a season later because he doesn't seem to be the answer, Batshuayi probably isn't either (if he doesn't leave for Dortmund permanently), and Giroud seems more apt as cover than as a starter. Then again, Giroud's also the only one of the three definitely going to Russia.

I was tempted by As It Is and Twin Atlantic but having WAW -> WOS -> The Great Escape -> Slam Dunk on consecutive weekends in May, plus Frank Turner between the two wrestling events, has left me feeling fairly burned out and I can't wait to just have a few weekends doing nothing* come June. Ignoring the fact that where I work also serves as a gig venue, the only announced shows I'll be going elsewhere to attend are Against The Current and The Feeling, with Voodoo Glow Skulls and Rasmus being added depending on how busy I am and finances at the time. *House work will unfortunately have to be done after being put on the back burner since the WOS announcement.

Finally got round to watching The Last Jedi. I don't disagree with any of the criticisms you can make but I enjoyed it a lot more than I recall about The Force Awakens. That "Everything Wrong With..." video JTH posted was so insufferable I stopped watching it after the 4th "sin".

My friend attended his 33rd Frank Turner gig during this tour. I think he saw him in Norwich, London, and Bournemouth. Possibly Southampton too. The Norwich show was my first and I really enjoyed it.

Just watched Rogue One. I thought it started off a bit disjointed but the second half was fantastic.

Playing the 13/14 season as Norwich on FM12 and I've just noticed that both of my league games against Man Utd are back to back, 4 days apart, in early February. I've had back to back games against the same team before but that's only ever been league-cup combos. Anyone ever had that on any FM game before? I can't imagine it happens too often.

I wish I was going to the North one purely because of the pop punk pre-party on the Friday and ska/punk room at the afterparty. South has one less room and that's the one they chose to ditch. On the flip side, almost everyone I know who attends one goes to South and it's a lot easier to get to.

Slam Dunk just announced the final additions to the lineup alongside stage splits and, while Lower Than Atlantis is a good addition and I'll see them again if they aren't clashing with PVRIS or Goldfinger... Me vs. Hero are doing a (possibly one off) reunion! Set clashes are always a pain at festivals but MVH have just joined Save Ferris as my two can't miss performances, even if it means missing all three of the above.

No joke on nothing, he may be coming to WAW in the near future. He'll need to move further than that to get across the entire ring though...

That's a good suggestion. A friend of mine was obsessed with it before and just after it came out. I think he enjoyed it a lot so I'll probably give it a go.

Just watched the first two episodes of The Man in the High Castle. I'm hooked.

Its less about human rights abuses at this point and more about making an actual diplomatic stand over the disgraceful behaviour being perpetrated by the Russian government. There were calls for boycott over Sochi 2014 after the Ukraine situation but ultimately nothing happened outside of a few Ukrainian athletes choosing not to attend. The World Cup is a much larger stage for sending a message that Russia engages in way too much covert political bullshit to remain on friendly terms with the West (and also it isn't like England have a chance of making it past the quarter finals ). I was already in favour of that alternate tournament idea which was floated around in November but now I think we should pull out and begin discussions about it with other football associations. There are enough teams who didn't qualify to easily make an appealing 8 team tournament without even considering England. A 16 team tournament even seems plausible to be honest.

My main complaint was that it feels like an interactive movie rather than a game, even more so than LA Noire. I'm hoping that giving it a second chance will soften my opinion but I've already found myself re-playing Just Cause 2 and the incredibly good, albeit not long enough, Force Unleashed II instead.

I actually got it with my slim PS3 when I had to replace my old one and I hated it. I found it so boring that I stopped playing it as soon as I got Arkham City and I've never picked it up since. I've still got it and I only plan on giving it another chance because it seems to be regarded as the best game of the entire generation. Doesn't seem to be available on PS3.

I actually think that England should boycott the World Cup.

I recently got my TV and PS3 set up in my flat and also accidentally started an Amazon Prime trial yesterday, which I might as well take advantage of. Any recommendations? The newest game I bought on release was GTAV and the newest game I have at all is Arkham Knight. I enjoy games which focus more on story modes than online play.
