Only a handful would have got near the squad if they'd been around 10 years ago and that team wasn't good enough to get past a quarter final. Southgate knows many of the new additions from the U21 squad and we can actually try building a coherent team here instead of bunging whichever 11 are best performing for the top 4/6 each month.
