I'm confident Crespo will do it for us this year. He's had a decent enough pre season and hopefully the goal will give him a bit of a lift for the rest of the season.

And when has Jose Mourinho ever rubbed it in when Chelsea have won? As it has been said, Jose will say when Chelsea were lucky but will praise his team when they put in a good performance.

I don't believe that result, I really don't. was watching it, and cheering Wigan on like mad at the end, then Crespo scored that absolute peach and I just screamed 'Noooooooo'.

That was fucking brilliant stuff though, but wish it went the other way. So near, yet so far.

And that is a weird thing, when Crespo lined it up, you just know that it is not going anywhere else other than the top corner, it was never going to go wide, or over, it would always find the top corner. Football is strange and harsh sometimes.

Not anymore...

The Football Association could be forced to reverse its decision to downgrade Newcastle United midfielder Jermaine Jenas' red card against Arsenal to a caution, following intervention from FIFA.

Jenas was dismissed for a challenge on Gilberto Silva during the first half of the Gunners' 2-0 win at Highbury, but after watching a video of the incident referee Steve Bennett requested that the FA reduce his decision to a yellow card.

However, FIFA have now informed the FA that red cards can only be rescinded in a case of mistaken identity.

An FA spokesman revealed: "We can confirm we have received communication from FIFA and we will be reviewing our position and responding to that."

Newcastle boss Graeme Souness was furious with Bennett's original decision to dismiss Jenas and is sure to be further angered by FIFA's intervention, which could see the player suspended for three matches.
