Not sure if it's technically Premiership news but the Man City owner's wife has been jailed for 3 years for corruption purposes, which probably means if Thaskin goes into Thailand for his court appearences he's going to be facing a much harsher punishment if also found guilty.

With an entire 1 billion sliced off his overall assets (for not going back) he might have to sell up City quickly before he goes completely under. I'm sure this might have buggered up any potential transfers (seeing as he's now worth £200m)

Quick, wrap up the Corluka deal before Hughes finds out!

I read that Corluka still wants to join Spurs even though Man City have said he's not going anywhere. That was from The Sun, however.

On Setanta late last night, it said "Corluka Commits to Man City" on the transfers part at the top.

I think City released a statement that he was staying but it only featured quotes from Hughes. Corluka's agent said:

Vedran is very unhappy at the events from the last few days. He would like to go to Tottenham, having been given permission to go there, and having already passed a medical and agreed personal terms.

He hopes the situation will be resolved soon so he can resume his career at Tottenham.

From some Man City boards (apparently)

"I'm sorry to say this, as a life long fan and - for the last few (for me at least) unforgettable months - employee, MCFC as we know it is finished. Here are the FACTS, for those who really want to know. Thaksin is, as of midlnight 10th August, 2008, an international fugitive. He now has to be found guilty of corruption in Thailand in his absense, offering no defence. Extradition requests will surely follow. The PL will then have to find him short of the fit and proper ownership rules (and believe me, the pressure for that from fellow 'members' has been growing since June). Thaksin is trying to palm off City onto whoever will now take it, an insolvent mess of a business, completely incapable of sustaining itself. The truth is that the only interested party (until recently) - Wardle - is not now able to bail City out now , he cant come close on his own and no partners have been found. The wage bioll and committments due on the last 2 years' transfers have spiralled out of control. The Corluka affair is the last straw - I personally worked on the deal and can assure anyone interested that he has already been transferred to Spurs. Spurs have this evening started legal action, and he will be barred from playing for City following an injunction in the courts tomorrow. Personally I expect Hughes to then resign on principal (he has no choice now, he is on record as saying that he wilol have final say on all transfers). Many wont believe any of this, but a few will. I am very close to this situation (readers will never know who I am or how close - a few would know my name but it isnt appropriate to for me to come 'out') - trust me, I am close enough to know what has happeneded in the last fortnight, I am p*ssed off with it (as a fan, and as someone who has worked hard for the club durinig the ast 18 months or so) and it must be said, a little drunk. I am posting this message on a few sites - apologies for those that keep reading it, but I want City fans to know what is happening. The sad truth is we are finished, and that as a result, the PL will be facing its biggest challenge since inception within 2 weeks of now."

Hughes knew what he was getting into after what happened with Sven. T's a shame really but it give Paul Ince a chance to kick it in the Premiership so i ain't to bothered. At least it means Roy Keane is closer to being a number 1 candidate for Fergie replacement....i can dream >.>

It does seem like Man City may well be completely buggered at least for this year unless another big businessman tries to buy the club before it goes completely down the shitter for a knock off price to protect investments. However I can see Thaskin selling their biggest players to get maximum revenue back before selling to the first bidder.

Players like Elano only came to the club because of Sven and the money surrounding this new exciting club, wouldn't surprise me if they have itchy feet knowing they might not be getting a paycheck if something else goes balls up.

I think Man Utd could do better than a barely decent manager like Keane.

I thought that might get a reaction from Ace.

I think you misunderstood me or i just wasn't clear, i don't beleive Keane would cut being manager of Man Utd atm, but in my own little dream world he would. Unless you said that to get a reaction out of a Sunderland fan, thats fine.

Anyone kow if Faubert is still at West Ham, read somewhere that him and Lljunberg had been released, which makes no sense as Faubert was injured for most of last season.

Oh come on, Man Utd could do way, way better than Roy Keane. Keane is a good motivator and honest, but his transfer market nous is pretty bad. Man Utd would deserve far better than him when Fergie goes.
