I have forgotten who all these people are, what they are doing, whose side they are on and everything else about it.

This stuff just doesn't stick in my head.

Are they going to do some sort of refresher bit to begin?

I'm not sure about seeing it but either the showrunners or Martin talked about how they couldn't use it like that because of how unwatchable it would be to watch somebody try and climb that thing in a scene.
